I thought I'd try something a bit different for this update & actually tell you what you are looking at. Here are three of several new post-war French units I have made, they took some time to make as there is very little information available. I doubt that anyone else around here knows about them so along with the pics is some information about each of them, I have also uploaded some more photos of them to the site which you can see here.

Lorraine 40t

The Lorraine 40t was designed as a lighter alternative to the troubled AMX-50, it used the same oscillating turret as the AMX-50 but on a less complex hull with a piked nose much like the Russian IS-3. As well as the piked nose it was heavily influenced by German designs from later in the war much like the AMX-50 was. Just like the AMX-50 tho the need to produce such a tank was not needed dew to the large amount of surplus american equipment so interested in it faded.

Armament: 100mm, 3 machine guns
Length: 10.80m
Width: 3.30m
Hight: 2.85m
Speed (Max): 60 km/h.
Weight 39.7 tons
Crew: 4

Lorraine Canon D'Assaut

Developed alongside the Lorraine 40t was the Lorraine Canon D'Assaut tank destroyer. Again heavily influenced by German late war designs this French Jagdpanther was cancelled as the idea of self propelled tank destroyers was abandoned soon after the prototype was finished.

Armament: 90mm, 20mm
Length: 10.80m
Width: 3.30m
Hight: 2.60m
Speed (Max): 62 km/h
Weight 25 tons
Crew: 5

Lorraine Automoteur 155

Lorraine developed two different 155mm self propelled howitzers the second & more advance one is seen here. After both where tested development of a turreted self propelled howitzer started, with the cancellation of the Lorraine Canon D'Assaut & the lack of interest in the Lorraine40t it was decided to use a different hull on which to place the new turret.

Armament: 155mm howitzer, 20mm
Length: 7.96m
Width: 3.30m
Height: 2.77m
Speed (Max): 62 km/h
Weight: 30.30 tons

Have a nice vacation.

This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Andre 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Do they use rubber road wheels (they look like tires!) for the sake of ease of manufacture, or could they pull the BT-style running without the tracks bit?

They are rubber road wheels but they didn't work without the tracks, I think they where more to cut the weight & cost etc

Ah, kind of brings me to another point, how are you determining costs? Just based off effectiveness? Got a guide for roughly how much each cost the respected governments?

Atm I'm just filling in a number that seems appropriate for testing, I'm working on a formula that uses type, health, damage, etc, etc to calculate the cost.

So I guess that means sides with weaker stuff, like Italy, will get access to much cheaper vehicles than the British or Germans?
