How would the new Thrawn campaign run on my current PC with 1.5 GHz and 1 gigabyte of ram, the current Thrawn Campaign I'd say is playable but lags worse than V 1.0.

That's odd, because nothing really changed in it for v1.1 :p. Is that the case for everyone?

To answer your question, it'd probably be comparable to the slim version of the Inner Rim or so.

The PC I'm looking at buying comes with a ati radeon 4350, is this graphics card able to handle EAW Forces of Corruption and this mod?

Would an amd athlon 64 x2 dual-core processor 6000 work on a 32-bit PC

Edit: Merged.

The short answer: yes. The long answer: I don't know... define "handle".

A 64-bit CPU will always work for 32-bit, but you'll get minimal to no benefit from the wider pipeline. EaW, for example, doesn't have a native 64-bit mode, so you'll be running it as 32-bit regardless of the processor you have. So if you're looking to get 64-bit because you think it's better... I wouldn't. If it's cheaper, then go for it. The actual clock speed is going to make more of a difference though.

EAW works fine on Vista 64-Bit, both the vanilla one and the Gold Pack one (I own both versions).
The vanilla FoC version does NOT work on Vista 64-Bit, I don't know about the Gold Pack one, because I always overwrite the .exe's with the ones from mike.nl. These .exe's make the FoC Gold Pack AND the Vanilla one work with 64-bit Vista. So just go with 64-bit Vista and get those .exe's, I have the files on my PC but I can't find the link anymore.

And people talking about load times and stuff, this has little to do with the processor, more with the Hard Drive you are using. I now have 2 WD Caviar Black's running in RAID 0 short stroked to 300GB and it loads pretty fast.

EDIT: Found the link, see post #54 here.

Thanks,

I've been going back and forth on what computer I'm going to get as I go to diiferent sites, I think my final specs will be windows vist home basic 32-bit, 3 gigabytes of ram, 2.8 GHz, and a Nvidia 9500GT. How would these specs be?

Depends on what 2,8GHz, Single, Dual, Quad or an i7? Even then, go for 64-bit just to fututre proof your pc.

BTW, all these problems with lags make me worry, will the full GFFA be included in v1.2 with reference map?

EDIT: It does not really matter if it's a single, dual etc. The game engine is just too cramped with all these units and there must be something to avoid this problem. The only difference a dual or higher will make is that it will do small things in the background that a single core wouldn't do, so this will make a minor to small difference.

Thanks,

Since the Vista patch uses a no CD crack version of the game wouldn't it be against the license agreement?

Thanks and sorry to ask about the license agreement again.

I don't know, but the files are hosted on the site that made the game themselves, Petroglyph... So I don't think you need to worry about it :omg:

I don't think it would matter..as long as you have the disc...doubt LA will care as long as you bought the game, they don't mind modders and mostly cut out anything that htey dont want modders to touch.

Speaking of that vista fix I experience some problems in selling the Delta 7 Star fighter and also it seems like the pathings of ships are better...also PR do you know if anything else would be affected by this fix...the 2nd fix he posted about by making an xml folder in FOC and making a GraphicsDetail.xml Thanks in advance.

Hmm... it would be unprecedented for me on XP, but perhaps Vista is objecting to the length of the name? After all, it is a mouthful. I can only speculate though.

also it seems like the pathings of ships are better

I wouldn't know why...

I doubt it, but I'll add that bit to the mod to prevent it in the future. Sorry I didn't notice that sooner.

Edit: Consider this a non-issue as of v1.2. I don't know what this community would do without Mike.nl :p...

The G100 is not really fast... And it probably depends what Systemax Computer it is, no time to figure it out now myself.

Thanks, also I forgot to add that it also seems that the tech starting on the Core and Outer Rim Campigns go to level 0...with only being able to build the Tug Boat...even though on advanced settings it does say its tech 1, I can only get to a different starting tech level by going to tech 2 or above...

Is Systemax a reputable company?

Yeah, I caught that bug too a couple weeks ago, but I thought it was just on Ghost's latest copies. Is it in the release and/or Slim Pack?

Edit: I just took care of it myself. It's now fixed for the online version of the Slim Campaigns. That bug was causing major gameplay issues. Also, I fixed the spelling errors for Ralltiir and Smuggler's Run that prevented them from having starting forces.

bob345, no one really knows the answers to these questions... and this really isn't the place to ask besides.

I'm sorry if this is already posted, or if this is the wrong thread. But do the slim campaigns still include the full GFFA? I remember downloading the slim pack before and manualy activating the full GFFA.

I don't think there is going to be a full GFFA anymore. It just doesn't work with EaW.

:p Why not? It's the only thing that ever came so close to the real GFFA in a game. And I don't really mind playing on 10FPS. On my old pc it didn't matter what campaign I played, I always had low FPS. As long as you have GFFA light people can't complain about lag right?

I might include a full GFFA campaign with minimal starting forces (pirate command centers and asteroid star bases) like what was in v1.0, but it may not appear on the campaign list by default (i.e., you'd have to mod it in). Depends on how awesome the AI gets. But the performance can only get worse going forward because I'm sure we aren't done adding planets yet.
