Ive managed to find a copy of the ini files for Rise of the Witchking (courtesy of someone on the gamreplays forum), and have found (in the code) a fully prepared and intact arnor faction.

SO without further ado, id like to release what I think is the worlds fastest mod (3 days before the game ships).

Presenting...The Arnor Minimod

When you get your copy of Rise just run this (this is T3A so im safe in the assumption you can use -mod) and enjoy the Arnor faction EA made but never enabled.

And before you ask, im not entirely sure what units arnor has (although i can say that it has 4 heroes, 2 of which use the old isildur model, 1 uses rucaptain, and ONE of Arnors new heroes use a model I dont recognise...)

if this is true, that you have to enable those yourself, then it's no wonder EA always shows the 2nd age gondorians...

Their buildings and units are all Gondors, except the soldiers/archers, which are the LA ones.

Good work on a quick mod though. Unfortunately, viewing that INI made me lose the teeny ween bit of faith I had in them making this a good game ^_^

theres nothing new in the arnor faction, its all just stuff from bfme1, ive just had a look through the rotwk ini :(

This will give you access to the numnenorian skinned units from the campaign (alright the bfme1 intro movie, if were being brutal) and a modified power tree giveing spells from men AND elves.

yeah it was a dead easy thing to do, and the faction will play pretty much like a hero limited gondor, but it will be nice to have the numenorans against angmar, and while people here could tdo that with ease, a lot of people who only play the game wouldnt know where to start.

Well, i didnt feel like doing much beyond pointing out that EA made a faction everyone wanted and then disabled it. Im guessing with the exception of heroes it will be quite a nice faction.

As for doing arnor properly, just wait till Wars of Arda starts on it...

im intrested to see if cah will work for arnor, since if it does, that means a 8th faction can have cah.

I have long been considering requesting that EA add

GenericCAHFaction1
GenericCAHFaction2
GenericCAHFaction3
GenericCAHFaction4
GenericCAHFaction5 (on and on to about 50)

into game.dat so were not limitede in CaH factions.

Hey maybe we should have some kind of petition thing.

Yeah well, weve forced changes in teh past. I dont know if you had the beta, but back in those days there was no option to turn ring heroes off, they were permenantly on.

Then apoc told us we didnt like ring heroes because we were bad at playing the game, and serious players would like them.

Then someone started a petition and ea were forced to change it. So you see they can listen...when enough people shout.
