Hi all,

I will be modeling vehicles (and maybe aircrafts in future) for public use. Every one is welcome to use the models in one and only one condition: the only golden rule is that you credit me wherever you use the model even if you modify the model. At the end of the I will be working on the model and I deserve something: that would be you giving the artist, credit.

The first release is the HMMWV pack which will include

HMMWV transport (done)
HMMWV with MG (done)
HMMWV with TOW
HMMWV Avenger
HMMWV Ambulance (done)
HMMWV Radar/Comm. Dish (not sure yet)
HMMWV Generator (not sure yet)

I am aiming at 700 polys at this moment which I believe should be enough for CnC3. Watch this topic and soon you will get the models.

nice hmmv, i really like it:)

i have an qeustion: wich 3d modeling program you use(i geuss 3dsmax ifso what version).
and i cant wait for the release of the pack. Good luck and have fun with modeling.

I used 3D Studio Max version 8.

ok, i have basic 3dsmax knowledge but i aint good in getting the moddels to look right as i want them. and if i never get them right i usaly just fuck em 100% up. well yes i have concentration problems, but i still can make basic "ugly" things:P

Pretty good model you've got there :evgr: . One thing I suggest is increase the segments on the tires a little to make them more rounded, i'm sure it won't drive the poly count up too high, CNC3 can handle more than 700.

Godsun, if you want to learn how to model better, for now The 3rd Age has some great links to modeling tutorials (CNC3.net will come out with their own and newer tutorials soon).

Well, the SDK isn't out yet, so we're still on stand-by to some extent. When it's out, we'll start modding :p

yes, sure i do iam already bussy with Ideas and cameos:P. and trying to learn XML and trying to get better at 3dsmax :p

oh yes sorry, this was the first and last time in this topic from me. i wish you good luck with those hmmvs.
btw i hope you will ad side windows and let the machine gun look more realistic since a few years if iam right a soldier sits in the hmmmv and controls some computer thingy wich controls the machine gun and also has heat detection.

A lot of the detail can be done with the normal maps.

Can be, but you don't want to rely on them too much. They only work for depth strengthening, they should only be used to complement the regular texture and not provide further detail.

yes, but hey it is always nice to have a little detail. that will make you friends with textures even more:P:P(lol) and will make youre work look better.

Godsun, of course you want to use normal maps as much as possible. What I'm saying is they should always be used, but you don't want to make it like a second texture. You only want to make the normal map strengthen the depth levels that are already in the primary texture.

CNC3 is one of the first RTS games to use normal maps for almost everything. EA did a great job using them properly, especially on the vehicles.

ok, thats good to hear. iam about to reinstall 3dsmax 9. since my lasat format i lost it:P. but now i got once again and i will practice and try to make some good stuff:) for me and the community:P.
