After a long time working on it, we'll finally release a new network bar. Here's the specifics:

-> New network bar, wider and cooler with a complete set of links and a new organization for non-IE6 users.

-> IE6 users will still see the old bar.

-> If you use unskinned version of the bar, your code wil not need to be changed.

-> If you have skinned network bar, you'll need to redo the CSS file (at first we plan to do it for you) and change your site code lightly, since it will include bar.js instead of barskin.js.

-> For skinned bars, Jeeves is almost finishing a complete tutorial to teach you basics of CSS and how to skin the network bar.

-> In a small note, Red Alert 2 mods are being divided alphabetically. The list growed too much.

At the moment, we are still implementing the new bar and it should be finished in few hours, days or weeks. We'll keep everyone informed in this topic. If you have any doubts, post a reply in this topic as well. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but this bar will look better in any browser, except on mobiles or low resolution machines. These ones will be sorted in a later time.

Update 1: The unskinned new bar is online. For skinned sites, the old bar still remains. I'll setup a way to load the old bar on old Internet Explorer 6 before moving to skinned sites.

Looks great, very sleek and well laid out. Huge improvement.

Only criticism is that the reflect-effect on the main black bar is a bit strong, compared with the 2D forum skins, but I'm sure I'll get used to that within a few hours.

There was some recent change in the bar that killed its compatibility with some browsers. So, so far we know the following things:

Firefox: Compatible
IE6: Incompatible and won't be compatible.
IE7: Incompatible, according to Jeeves.
Opera: Incompatible here, compatible at Jeeves's.
Safari: Compatible
Netscape Navigator 9: Compatible

IE6: Compatible with old bar
IE7: Incompatible.
Opera: Compatible.
Safari: Compatible
Netscape Navigator 9: Compatible.

Still not compatible with IE6, still showing errors, unless I'm running 5.5 without realizing it....

IE6 shows no errors (it uses the old bar).

There is a possibility of your cache be outdated.

Anyway, I've removed a div from the template and it's now loading without index.php fine here.

Internet Explorer has a weird behaviour with this bar that everyone should be careful with:

1) Html Header must be:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

XHTML 1.0 is a must for it to work on IE7, otherwise, it will ignore some CSS standards used in the bar.

2) Never place the bar inside a div (with alignment left, although I think that without alignment it will also be problematic).

Internet Explorer refuses to load the site in these conditions even when the whole site is load, you press ok and it brings you a 404 like message.

By the way, on the Revora Front Page and PPM the old bar is not shown, but the new one is.

It's like a flash game where if you move the mouse incorrectly you can't get to the menu options you're looking for.

Revora has stopped to support the old bar properly on sites that used skinned version. It is possible to support both, if the .css file from both bars are merged into one. But it's not interesting anymore.
