Alright so I was looking around trying to figure things out... I found some posts about capping a CaH's stats and tried to do it...

I followed the instructions I found and went to,

C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Battle for Middle-earth ™ II\data\ini\createaherosystemmenofthewest.inc

I changed the attribute values to 20 for the following.

Attribute
GroupName = CreateAHero_AutoHealAttribute20
MinValueUpgrade = Upgrade_AutoHealAttribute20
MaxValueUpgrade = Upgrade_AutoHealAttribute20

Including all of the other Min/max value upgrade lines...

So I opened up BFME II and went to make a new hero, the game opened fine... I selected the gondor soldier class... And edited the look yadda yadda, but when I went to choose how to spend my attribute points... I only had 30 points to spend and they were the same basic defaults as usual.

So I went back and edited the number of points I had to spend... And the same thing occured. No changes not one.

So finally I edited the default value to 20 as well. At least hoping it'd give me an error message or crash the game to show the file was doing something, and once more. Nothing happened...

What am I doing wrong?

GroupName = CreateAHero_AutoHealAttribute20

I can see something wrong here.i mean at the group name you have added number 20 in the end which is not there at the original i think.you only have to change the minvalueUpgrade and the MaxValueUpgrade to 20 in the end.i think this is your mistake.

MaxValueUpgrade = Upgrade_AutoHealAttribute20

Hi, Im new.

well, the error that you are having here is that the minium value upgrade can't be the the same as the maxium one. I also used to have this error but I changed the values into considerably close numbers like this:

Attribute
GroupName = CreateAHero_AutoHealAttribute19
MinValueUpgrade = Upgrade_AutoHealAttribute18
MaxValueUpgrade = Upgrade_AutoHealAttribute20

that should make it work.
(maxium value upgrade must always have the highest number)

:p I got it to work too, but it should have been like this,

Attribute
GroupName = CreateAHero_AutoHealAttribute
MinValueUpgrade = Upgrade_AutoHealAttribute20
MaxValueUpgrade = Upgrade_AutoHealAttribute20

Having the Group name with a number is what was messing me up lol...

Of course in that same ideal I found it much easier to just edit the number of spendable points to 100 and cap it myself :good:

Yeah :good: feel like an idiot at the same time though... I kept reading over it and going, "What did I do wrong!" Still not sure why I had to re-install to get it working even after I changed the values...
