I've been trying to think of more ways to get the community involved with this project and I finally came up with a great idea! Before Celeglin left, he had two images for his betas:

Your mission, if you choose to accept, is to create a new image for the upcoming version of TEA:CE. It must have the following requirements:
  • Text that says: "Lord of the Rings Battle for Middle Earth" Check the images above for what it should be like.
  • Text that says: "The Elven Alliance: Community Edition"
  • Have at least one image that is 350X260. You can create banners if you want, but we like to have the main image be the specified size.
Other than that, I leave the creativity up to you! Just make sure that the image/drawing/artwork is realted to LOTR. For example, you can choose an image from the movie or you can make something that represents our community. Let your imagination run wild! ;)

The images must be submitted by June 28th. You can either post your image designs in this forum topic or PM them to me. We will then have a voting contest to see what image should be selected. The winner image will then be the official representation of TEA:CE! :p

Will do, Rob.

EDIT: A few questions I came up with:
-Are we only allowed to make one pic?
-What file format should the final image be?
-Do we get credited for this? ^_^ (I'm just joking here; this really isn't anything for the mod, but a thank you would be nice :) )

EDIT2: The font Cel used to make the text on those images can be found here. (Rob, you may want to add that to your first post.)

EDIT3: When will the voting take place? Because I'll be gone for a few weeks.

I used to be {AE}Manveru, if that rings a bell.

OK, 17 images for you guys...
(EDIT: Sorry about the large images; I don't know how to scale them down for viewing in a post.)

Make sure that the images used are not blurry.

Also, try to avoid too much going on behind the text.

Most of those are not good enough (sorry) because of those two issues. Only the Elrond one stands out.

I'm looking for a good picture now ^_^

I've got a question: where can I find the cool Battle for Middle Earth text?

Thanks Matias :p

Ok, I've something done, but I'm afraid it's too big :) And, if I reduce it's size, I think it'll ruin it... ^_^

Just tried reducing size, still looks quite good ^_^ No, wait, it doesn't... The words ruin it!

OK, I'll try to make some better ones later. Also, how do you reduce images in size while showing them in posts (so I don't take up 4-5 screens next time)?

I'll make some new (and hopefully good) ones later.

No, you can make multiples if you want.

-What file format should the final image be?

Try to keep it either .jpeg or .bmp (m@tt - bmp's have big filesizes, we try to discourage users uploading them)

-Do we get credited for this? :good: (I'm just joking here; this really isn't anything for the mod, but a thank you would be nice :shiftee2: )

Yes, you will be mentioned in the credits part of the community project if you win the contest

EDIT3: When will the voting take place? Because I'll be gone for a few weeks.

The voting will take place on either June 21st or the 28th and will last a week.

Your image sizes are fine and they don't need to be reduced. :crazed: My favorites are number 1 and 10. Like m@tt said though, try to find images that are a little less blurry. You got the right idea though!

Where do we put the font so it's usable?

C:\Windows\Fonts if you're talking about where to put the .ttf file.

OK, 12 more. This time I made sure the background wasn't too busy behind the text and tried to find clear images. I think I did better with these than the first 17 of them.

Careful. This link is DANGEROUS. Do NOT click it. This one, however, is fine.

I had the meaning of life in my signature, but it exceeded the character limit.
