File: Unofficial PR v1.1.2
  • Extract to the main Phoenix Rising directory.
  • Note: Since this is mainly meant as a multiplayer release, install on a completely fresh version of PR, and do not modify the files, else you will get a version mismatch online. If you're getting it for the single player aspects, nevermind that.
  • Let me know if you get interface or icon glitches, so I can upload an MTD fix for you.
  • Look a bit below to find the Ship Skirmish Pack.

A compilation of a couple different enhancements of PR v1.1, such as the Unofficial PR v1.1 Bug Fixes, Space Colony Scripting, the Land Assault Patch, and something some folk might remember from v1.0, the Icon Mod (Now updated, of course, for v1.1).*

Additional features include:
  • The humble beginnings of multiplayer ported Galactic Conquests: Core Worlds and Thrawn Campaign. Based on the Skirmish Tech Level system, there are no scripts, so all ships start out at the final tier.
  • Skirmish balance changes: Increased gravity well radii for Golans and Interdictors. Heavy nerf on repair ships. Rebel hero squadrons now have final tier variants, to match the Imperial counterparts. Freighter income nerfed, Mine income buffed. Lando Calrissian with Emancipator added for Rebellion.
  • Two maps made by Evilbobthebob: Tatooine Trauma and Sluis Van Spaceworks* (There most likely will be issues with playing on these online. Inherent with FoC, really.)
  • Completely custom heroes for the Corporate Sector Authority: Angela Krin, Karrek Flim, Mirkovig Hirken, Auditor-General, Prex, and ExO. Also, the return of Bossk.
  • New text entries for the couple heroes missing them!
  • Single player should be entirely unhindered! (Let me know if you find an issue though!)
  • Some silly little Object duplication errors. Nothing important except clearing up the mod checker.
  • Plus: probably more!

Known issues:
  • No Smuggler for the CSA in Galactic! Apparently, Smugglers are hardcoded for the Empire and Rebel factions. Thinking of some sort of workaround; in the mean time, the CSA Smuggler is disabled. (Except for Skirmish...AH-whaa...?)
  • CSA has a small Land roster! Not sure what I can do about that. I can try to do something eventually, but I figure it's just a weak point of the CSA. In order to alleviate the burden of only being able to use three units, I added the ability to recruit P-series Droidekas and IG-72 Combat Droids.
  • Despite the Land Patch, what's up with Land!? I recommend Auto-resolving. Most fights come down to AT-ST spam, in my experience so far. (Narrows tactics down to who has more, and who the defender is.)
  • Balance! Not completely achieved for both Skirmish and Galactic. Give feedback and thoughts.
  • Multiplayer campaigns are so unpopulated! Sadly, yes. Due to loading/sync issues at campaign start, having all the original starting units causes a 'perpetual load'. In order to load quickly, and grant the player a starting fleet, I had to remove many starting Pirate units and player units. BUT!: These are meant for multiplayer anyway, which means you should be concentrating more on the other player. Pirates are only a hindrance, though, not much at that.

File: Unofficial PR v1.1.2 Ship Skirmish Pack
  • Install after the main Unofficial PR v1.1.2 sub-mod.
  • Includes several ships across the three Skirmish factions that make a return from EaW/FoC.
  • Powers up the Skirmish variants of the Golan stations.
  • Courtesy of Kitkun, who did the work of creating the final tier variants of the ships, including the tedious hardpoint and projectile work. All credit for this sub-mod goes to her.

*Credits:*
  • PR, of course! Awesome mod, awesome guy, awesome stuff. Awesome.
  • Ghostrider for the Land Assault Patch. Makes Land that much more bearable!
  • Keraunos, for providing his Icon Mod. Now you can tell what's what! Woo!
  • Evilbobthebob: Holy crap! This guy helped me test tons of stuff. Provided input, too! Lots of exceptions, problems, and incompetencies along the way! Also, the maps! Thanks, guy!
  • Shadowrevan: Also helped me test a lot of stuff!
  • Galacticfear: Helped test some stuff, too, I believe.
  • Kitkun: For free reign of the Ship Skirmish Pack.
  • I hope I didn't forget anyone! If I did, smack me, and I'll throw you the bone you deserve!

So, how exactly does one go about correctly placing these files?

Well, if you extract the zip to your desktop, you should see a Data folder. More that inside your PR v1.1 folder, and allow overwriting. Then it's installed. You may want to make a fresh install of v1.1 before you install this patch, just to be sure.

Also note that, since this is meant to be played multiplayer, install on a stock version of PR and do not modify it, else you will get version mismatch.

But if you're getting it solely for single player, nevermind that.

Also, evilbobthebob: You already had everything anyway, so shush.

EDIT: Also, what campaign/s would everyone like to see converted to multiplayer next?

I just tried out the Thrawn Campaign, and some things to point out. There are two icons for both Thrawn and Palleon, in regards to getting upgrades for them. Also, there is still a [Missing] for the swamp speeders.

Also, is there a new ranking system for units?

Two icons for them? What do you mean?

The "ranks" are just a quick visual queue to see what tier ships are at.

Off the top of my head, the chevrons go:
-Green -> Red -> Gold; three chevrons per color
-Fighters/Bombers/Transports get one chevron per upgrade.
-Corvettes/Frigates get one per upgrade through triple red, then the final goes to triple gold.
-Cruisers get one per upgrade through triple green, next two go triple red and triple gold.
-Destroyers/Capitals get one gold per upgrade.
-Dreadnaughts go straight to triple gold.

Wow! Good job! Pity I won't be taking advantage of most of these changes though...

How does Bossk suck? Is it because he only has a transport?

I believe McDman means that when you go to the build screen, there are two buttons to upgrade Thrawn and two buttons to upgrade Pellaeon. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Bossk sucks because he is pretty bad at killing anything and he gets killed pretty quickly. If he's escorted by a large group of transports he tends to blend in a bit and survive longer though.

-Bossk is terrible because he flies a YV-666. Not only is he in the final variant (With like several times more base YV-666i Shields and Hull, I might add), but I've upgraded the projectiles and fire rates (At least, I think so!). His concussion missile can now kill a J7 X-wing in one shot, I believe, but his quad laser still sucks. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the maneuverability of the YV-666 (Which I believe I increased as well) doubled with the firing cone. The laser is top-mounted, if memory serves me right, which gives a lame targeting hemisphere.
-I'm only half sure why there would be two build icons: One's the SP version, one's the MP version. I went ahead and put the story file to lock all MP Hero variants in SP, which I honestly should have just done in the first place, but it slipped my mind.

Instead of downloading the entire ZIP again, just get the hotfix XML under the main one.

Also, just to reiterate, because I think it got lost in the crossfire!:

Also, what campaign/s would everyone like to see converted to multiplayer next?

I'm thinking Thrawn Campaign or Operation Shadow Hand right now. Thoughts?

You sure that's it? I mean, that's surely part of it, but most flying space heroes as such should get a pretty big combat bonus to their own craft. Haven't looked at your code, so not sure if that's the case, but check out Fett's or Solo's file and make sure Bossk has that bonus.

Thrawn is the one to do. I'm not sure we finished OSH for v1.1.

You know what. I think that's it. I'll have to pare the projectiles and fire rates back down. Forgot that heroes get the huge self bonus to everything. D'oh! Didn't do that for the Skirmish CSA Heroes either. >_<

I'm thinking Thrawn Campaign or Operation Shadow Hand right now. Thoughts?

Check, sir!

EDIT: Updated with proper combat bonuses for CSA heroes. Bossk shouldn't suck anymore! Woo. Also, I removed the hotfix to force you to redownload the ZIP again. Not that anyone downloaded them since I posted them anyway! Haha. (My bad)

Also! If anyone experiences/has experienced problems with Filefront, let me know, and I'll see what I can do to get a second mirror.

That is what I meant to say. Also, there is a [Missing] for the old schools swamp speeder the Rebels and Pirates use.

Does the ranking system provide a bonus or is it simply a tool to separate stock unites from upgraded ones?

Am I the only person having problems with this update? When I installed it, PR just went wacky on me. The starting buttons were all wiped out, and were replaced by a little half-Imperial symbol on the right-hand side of where they were supposed to be. I went into skirmish mode, where things got worse. The build buttons were replaced by warped, mixed ship tiles, and the mini-map was just stretched into oblivion. The standard play/pause, and the movie button, were wiped out, but if I clicked where they were supposed to be, it still worked. The ships seemed to work as well. It seems only the button images were messed up. I reinstalled a fresh version of PR with this update, and the same thing happened.

Can someone help here?

Um...strange...I myself did a fresh install of PR with the v1.1.2 over it, and it turned out fine.

Check the fresh install of PR first to see if it's a problem beforehand first, then re-download and apply the ZIP. Perhaps something got corrupted.
