You simply type one in while logging into the game.

You simply type one in while logging into the game.
That's right. You don't have to apply to make a new name, you can just make one by logging in with it as your onlineID. If the name is available, it will be made for you. If not, the game will tell you.
You only have to apply here if you had an old GameSpy name that you want to reclaim.
