It's a platformer about you, Ori, who is a small + fleet + ADORABLE woodland creature that lives in a magical forest that is balanced by these elemental trees. Eventually, a raging mother owl by the name of Kuro comes by and destroys these trees, for reasons I won't spoil. You have to jerk your own tears out, I'm afraid. So you, the lovably dangerous Ori, must save your dying forest from the pesky owl by jumping and exploding around this gorgeous game.
It's in the style of Metroid / Castlevania... as in, you explore this open 2D world and progress through areas by getting new abilities. The style of the game may not be anything new, but it's still super fun. And by that, I do mean that it's diabolically hard. The game becomes fast paced and precise, causing some great scenes of squeaking out near-death moments constantly. And may I add two points:
+The Game looks A M A Z I N G.
+The game sounds A M A Z I N G.
It's not just the music (which, as I described, is amazing), the sound design as a whole is top-notch. And the story? Well, it's also really good. It will make you cry in the first 5 minutes. What exactly is bad about this game? You not owning it. Get it, before I Kuro you to death by destroying your home and family.
