I HAVE READ THE HOW-TO THREAD

When trying to play CNC3 and KW on steam with the cnc online app, I get an error saying Failed to start game. This was around 11 am.

I am using Win 7 64bit.

----- C&C:Online Launcher Start -----
Game: Kane's Wrath
Kane's Wrath Install Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Command and Conquer 3 - Kane's Wrath\
Started game with: "CNC3EP1.exe "
Caught CREATE_PROCESS_DEBUG_EVENT from Kane's Wrath. Detaching...
ERROR: game.dat process not found.

Both games give the same error, I tried launching through the app and making a shortcut and hooking.

Tried verifying the game, reinstalling, moving to a new location, etc.

*Edit* I only get that error when hooking. When just lauching via the app I get the game splash but then it just goes away and nothing launches.

I suppose it is safe to assume I will not be getting any support by now.

Well, it is safe to asssume that we have been busy, simply overlooked your topic or just didn't know any answer.

Hello anyway ;)

Are you running the game as administrator? Make sure to run with Windows 7 compatibility + with "Run as Administrator" set.

Is the given location the correct installation directory?

"To know what question we may reasonably propose is in itself a strong evidence of sagacity or intelligence. For if a question be in itself incongruous and begs for uncalled-for answers, it holds, sometimes, besides embarrassing the proposer, the disadvantage to seduce the unguarded listener into giving absurd answers, and we are presented with the ridiculous spectacle of one (as the ancients said) milking the he-goat, and the other holding a sieve beneath."
