Hello guys
I'm very new at C&C online and just found out about you recently... Well my problem is I can't use this software because it says my game installation isn't compatible with c&c online!?
Does anyone know how to fix my problem? Or do I need to buy another version over origins etc.?
I didn't do any modifications on the game - I'm really confused...

Sorry. Ok. I got this game long ago for my 13th birthday. It's a german version. In the registry it say language german2.

Is it pirated? Did you modify anything? Have you tried reinstalling?

Well, I lost my booklet so I'm using a serial number from the internet. But I possess the CDs. If it's because of the serial number then I would really buy another version over origins, if it's possible.
I didn't reinstall since the game is running through options.ini... I could even patch it 2 hours ago. But I'll try reinstalling if you say so.
And I didn't modify anything.

The serial is not important, as C&C:Online doesn't check it at all.
Before reinstalling, though, try and run Generals as administrator, something must be confusing GenTool.

Hmm... ok
I just tried again with admin privilege. First it didn't run - i forgot to copy a option.ini file in my admin folder -> Still not working :(
I will reinstall it and try again. I'll keep in touch with you here.

So...
I reinstalled it and tried again. First It said I need to patch the game - so I did. I used this site: ftp://ftp.ea.com/pub/eapacific/generals/generals/DownloadablePatches/
Now it says the same "error" like before. My game installation isn't compatible with c&c online :(
Shall I just buy the origin bundle? And will it work with it 100%..? I don't want to spend money, if I'm not sure if it will work or not...

Only German2 is affected by this.

Any News on this issue?
I have the same version (C&C generals, v1.8, from Origin, ultimate collection) Language = german2) and get the same error message from gentool when connecting to multiplayer.
I've disabled origin ingame and installed the fixed launcher, also did a complete reinstall with ccleaner, still not working.
would be great to hear some news, cpu is so weak i want to play online;-)

I am having this problem where it's saying this "This game install is not compatible with cnc online, remove custom game modifications"
Gentool is telling me this. Anybody know what's the deal? I bought the game through origin.

I just bought the ultimate Collection from c&c for origin and tried again... now it finally works 
I just have to figure out how to connect to the Server.
