Hey guys.

I have a mod that is virtually finished so now I'm trying to tie up all the loose ends. One of these loose ends is that I made the two Blue Wizards quite a while back but have no place to add them. The only good faction that they could really go in is the Dwarves as it has been speculated that they could have played a part in the northern campaign but the Dwarven hero list is already full. As it happens, all the good faction's hero lists are full. The only solution I can think of is to make them purchasable from the sifnalfire structure. I could have them available for all factions as their allegiance is not known for sure at the time of the war of the ring.

The problem I have is that I don't want the heroes that come from the signal fire to come instantly, I want them to have a creation time like normal ones but if a faction purchases a hero and loses the signalfire, the hero will be neutral when it's made or it will belong to the new capturing faction when its made. I would also need to make it so that if several factions had a signalfire, only the first one to attempt to buy a hero got it and that it was no longer available to purchase for any other faction after the first had paid for it.

Any suggestions guys?

I will be the first to answer and say why not script it through worldbuilder but then you would have to do it to every map that has a signal fire.

It would be something like:

If captured then disable button for factions b c d.

enable for faction a.

Thanks a for the reply Elric.

I did think of trying to do it through the worldbuilder. I thought I could tie it in with the lib_gollumspawn map so it was active on all maps that ring heros were on but there some reason I ruled that idea out but now I can't remember. It'll come back to me, lol.

Doing it to every map is not really how I want to do it either. If I ever want to change it or if something goes wrong, it will be a lot easier to just fix it in the signalfire ini than going through each map and doing it that way. You know, it keeps things nice and simple. :smilehuh:

Maybe because you can disable those by disabling the Ring in-game? In TPW we used the Ring script for housecolour, so people who wanted the original textures played with them, while those who wanted housecolour could choose colour. The only thing I see you could do with this is to replace the ring power with a power with regarding the Blue Wizards..

I have just about everything finished for my mod but I still haven't found a way to a add the blue wizards. Before I try find a way to add them to the signal fire structure, I just thought I ask if anyone has any other ideas for adding them to the game in any other way? (Or even any ideas for adding them to the signal fire)

Like I said before, all my factions have full or nearly full hero build lists so I'm looking for another way to add them to the game. I thought it might be an opportunity to do something novel or new.
