Hahaha hey sorry for such a long delay, I've had university finals to take care of. now that they're over for now, i finally have time to work on the mod! We are trying to get the EU vehicles sorted by Christmas/ the end of 2009. While others are working on the models and textures, I will be running trials with the CNC3 modsdk, this will probably be the case until Jan 5th or so.

Your last idea about the unit drop is great stuff, I've been working on the tank drop idea, will probably work something like the GDI reinforcement power. As for PAC.. I don't really have anything in mind for that yet.. balancing is hard x.x

just readed(is the rght word rode?)the news on moddb,the upgrades seems awesome,but will both factions have the same upgrades?.
and its really nice to hear that your mod was on the top :p.

and 2 maps for first release,now thats what i call a fan service(or what ever it is called :p)

Hahaha yeah, unfortunately right now vehicle upgrades apply to both factions, due to the fact that most vehicles in BF2142 are literally identical (function-wise) for both factions.. .

I've already got a member on the team dedicated to brainstorming new vehicles (and gathering info on vehicles, assets, etc that didn't make it into BF2142's beta/final build. So hopefully, by our second or third public release, there'll be more variation going on. ><''

And thanks! ^^ We're definately gonna put at least 2 BF2142 maps in. More will be in there soon ;)

Hahahaha thanks and yess! :p Based on Moddb statistics, there's this group of visitors that return to check on the mod every 3-4 days, and that's how i've adapted my update frequency ever since this mod got relaunched. We've been seeing steady growth in visits by the day, that was essentially a "booster shot" - three updates in a row (as opposed to the usual 1 update per 3-4 days). We got an all-time high on hits that day, so I guess that worked pretty well :)

And right now, yess the gunships do need to be reloaded at a base. They also fire 6 missiles at a time in BF2142, the only difference is that in the shooter, you have about 24 or 30 missiles max that are reloaded 6 at a time.. people still have to reload at a base when they run out ^^

haha yeah, pronunciation is the only different thing, in text form they're the same :p

hey! sorry hahaha no news updates these two weeks or so.. i've been extremely busy lately, but i do have Helge129 working on walker animations in the meanwhile, so we're still making bits of progress I suppose ^^

Thank you! ^^ yeah it does look quite cnc3ish still, but i think once i get around to replacing the old background with the bf2142 one, it'll look abit better XD

What will happen to the Commandos? I understand there isn't such a class in 2142 but will they be removed due to this or reskinned and edited appropriately for they're respective factions? Also will there be original mechs added (Like an artillery mecha similar to the Juggernaut/Behemoth)

Also will this mod have a Northern Strike add on in the future?

This mod is a great idea, these are my personal feelings and thoughts about what 2142 should be in my mind:

Get rid of most buildings , just mod the same metal trench networks, guard towers etc to allow units to garrison, and perhaps outposts such as the one we see for the EU in Berlin as well as other maps with landing pads etc. The majority of all units should be air lifted onto the map and reinforcements called in the same way GDI call their paratroopers etc.

The focus of gameplay should be trying to keep your units alive so they can recieve upgrades and 'rank-up' during play, trying to garrison buildings or use sentry guns and other special abilities, forcing players to consider retreating/falling back when losing a battle rather than sending units into a slaughter only until the situation becomes deire enough. For game balance use the exact same concept 2142 has with classes being better suited to specific tasks. Consider making most if not all infantry units in the game piss-weak but with medium to high damage forcing players to use tactical gameplay and cover - Also have 'garrsion locations that are not actual buildings but just cover to provide lasting defense for support infantry or engineers trying to damage walkers.

I would seriously spend a lot of time watching all of the BF2142 trailers with the large scale battles because now it's upto you to bring that sort of scale to life. Make the Titan slow as hell to move but consider making it's weapon pods mounted under the titan as actual turrents you build or repair when destroyed, so the titan acts like a mobile air-craft carrier, you can build units from it and deploy assault infantry from its drop pods to reinforce troops below.

Basicly just copy everything from BF2142, once you've done that only then I would start to consider adding things. And finally I would actually re-create one of the trailer battle scenes in your mod when its almost finished, if you can match the flow of the action and it's intensity you'll know your on the right track, theres lots of trailers anyway to give you material to work off.

So to re-cap just copy as much as you can from 2142 and add stuff that the community would like to see, iI wish you all the best of luck with this project and may it come to pass.
