Patience.

Is there perhaps another site you could download the AI and Graphics Enhancement Mods? I cannot get Registration emails, despite using multiple email addresses... and I checked my junk folder, too.

Whats about the update for the Space Mod you promissed us?

Job search has to come first :p.

Fair enough. I can update you on what I've been doing in the past six weeks or so. I talked to LucasArts, but they don't want me. And for an internship no less. Go figure. I have other leads, but they haven't run their course yet...

I'm not surprised they didn't take you bud. I'm writing full Star Wars novels knowing full well they won't ever be published except by me online and free for the fans. Working for LucasArts or any of Lucas' holdings is like working for any other company except for the fact that they hold the Star Wars license.

Don't worry a lot of us know what you can do and fully appreciate it even if the corporate world of gaming does not.

Lucasarts is a company and mostly they hire other small developers to make there game. Then they look if it is canon edit a few things then decide if it is sellable. Then they slap there logo on the opening screen and thats it. Though somtimes not even the canon part! (thinks about BF2).

It's true now they just hire small companies to work on big projects and tend to re-use them should it work out well. The X-Wing, Tie Fighter series of games is a good example with Totally Games. If you don't know who Lawrence Holland and Edward Kilham are you need to pick up the Collector's Edition of Tie Fighter from somewhere and be awed at the amazing gameplay. Even for an ancient game it's still fun and a great example of what a good game looks like.

You could try applying for some of the companies Lucas Arts employs. I would try to research the company in question to see what dirt has been flying around it. Just in case it goes belly up or gets swallowed and you end up out the door. It happens.

However Lucas Arts does still hire people from time to time and for many years has had internships for people. I'm not quite sure who they have intern for them these days. Accountants perhaps? *shrug*

They in-house Xbox 360 and PS3 I believe and contract out everything else, whether that means porting to a different platform or another title entirely. In other words, if you work at LA, you would never be on a PC game. But I believe canon and fan-appear are their least concerns...

I'm old enough to remember Lawrence Holland and Edward Kilham; I played the original X-wing right after it came out (yes, I was in elementary school). If Totally Games ever made another SW flight sim though, I would be totally surprised (bad pun). I talked to them last year and they said they were moving into the serious genre. Actually, here's a great quote from their site that I think highlights the differences in cultures here:

We always looked upon the game worlds we were creating as having their basis in reality. And our most non-serious games have always worked to gamers a deeper experience than just a piece of candy that they quickly consume.

Anyways, my point is that there's little way to predict which company will get what title. The only true guarantee is in sequels, and you know what that means :D.
