Welcome back to Minecraft Middle Earth: The Topic.  So the team has completed much, much more since the last videos I showed.  Jessie Cox re-re-revisits the server and shows what the MME team has done this time.  And it's quite... erm.... large.

They made a full-scale recreation of Minas Turith, the ruins outside of it (my lore is rusty), the ghost city (very rusty), and much, the secret ranger hideout, and much more.  Check it out... it's quite cool.

Yeah. MCME is still great and going strong. But I have gotten a bit tired of the project. I was going to become a texture artist but had my work stolen by the staff, my pull requests for GitHub have been sitting around for ages (all the vanilla flower textures you saw), they have not done enough to support the texture artists. I am still around, but they pushed away a bunch of people from when I first started texturing.

You can see a few textures that I made in the video. One of them was put in without my knowledge - lol - it was the lavender that hasn't been colour matched yet so it looks sooooooo bad. =p The apple tree leaves, the vines and the fern were made by me.

My current Lord of the Rings in Minecraft is ArdaCraft. Which is a bunch of people from MCME who decided the project was too small and not detailed enough. I am part of the Resource Team. They are working on Erebor.

That is very interesting, actually.  If they're not giving you, and other people credit for work they do, then that actually may change my entire perspective on the project.  That's really unethical to ask people to do work they are making money off of, and not even having the decency to give appropriate credits.

It's terms of service. Things is - I have a right to officially give them the textures and not have them take it from my Imgur account. I enjoyed seeing my ferns and apple tree leaves everywhere. But it really was screwy how they somehow - I don't even know how they did it - got the lavender, which looks sooooo ugly at the moment and put it in the pack.

Regardless, they have a fantastic build going on. But I have moved onto something much larger. =D

I've been on there several times but not recently. I can't believe they're already into gondor. when I first joined Rohan was still being worked on. They've done a great job.

Also have any of you seen this 1 to 1 accurate erebor?

its looking very good.

That is a very nice Erabor.  I wish these people would actually put all this effort into an actual 3D model that looked good.  These Minecraft builds look impressive, at times, but the fact it's just large 3D blocks with 10-20 different textures on the surfaces... it doesn't look that good up close.

The blocks... yeah. =p

But the textures can get better. =D Ever heard of Connected Textures and Optifine?

These are some rock textures I am making for ArdaCraft's Erebor. As can be seen in the screenshots ArdaCraft is using Conquest_ as a base resource pack and then using a custom resource pack on top.

Yeah, but not all computers can run minecraft with connected textures and 64x64 texture quality. MCME purposefully made their textures 32x32 and 16x16 so anyone and everyone can enjoy their builds.

I'm not sure, but I think they might have made a 64x64 resource pack for higher grade computers. If they did it isn't a mandatory resource pack.

The texture you see here is x32. =p

MCME is fantastic because of compatibility and ease of joining, they have said no mods and no optifine will be necessary.

I'll make a topic for it. =D

My main point is that even though this is an AMAZING MIddle Earth Minecraft Project there are issues that I encountered, I prefer the more ambitious ArdaCraft and in MCME texturers are not treated with the same respect as proper artists.

They don't want it that way, it just has come up through mismanagement. My work was stolen through error. Although I still have no idea why that Lavender work in progress was shown in the video, I don't feel like I can bring it up with them.
