With Return of Shadow Beta 0.15 you now get an installer simply run that follow the prompts and then run the launcher to the directory and launch the mod.

The launcher can be put anywhere.

Once the files are in their place the mod launcher takes care of the rest.

Important Notes:

  • This mod is Battle for Middle-Earth 1 only.
  • The game will not run if you put the files directly into the game folder, files must be in My Battle for Middle-Earth Files.
  • You must have English Patch 1.03 installed.
  • This version is a stand alone install and does not require Beta 0.1 or any of the previous patches, future versions will update this version.
  • This mod should work with 1.04 and 1.05, the launcher has been made to bypass 1.05 so there's no conflicts
  • If you are using a custom directory make sure you set it up properly and make you don't use the 64 or 32 bit options to launch, otherwise you'll have to deleted either 64.txt or 32.txt from My Battle for Middle-Earth Files
  • Every so often the original asset.dat goes missing the launcher will check for it and replace it if necessary, but if the asset.dat goes missing again I've included a back up simply extract asset.safe from the asset backup to My Battle for Middle-Earth Files and the launcher will fix it.

I dont know what i did wrong i got the one file i got from downloading the mod put it in the bfme folder and it wont work would you please make an installation video or give more description?

cause i waited hours on end for it to download.

first of all i only got one file and no launcher.

second of all i put my ONE file into the bfme folder not "all the files except for the launcer".

i have no mod launcher to take care of it.

And how do i put it in the folder but not do it directly?

PS

Thanks the short cut for using run helps a lot.

That one file is an archive you need 7zip to extract it to My Battle for Middle-Earth Files.

Then you download the 0.13 patch for the launcher.

Ok i am sorry i keep asking so much...

What is the patch for, where do i get it, what do i do with it?

Do i extract the files into bfme_files folder or into a folder inside of it?

I hope these are the last questions I need to ask. (for both of our sakes)

You extract the files directly into the My Battle for Middle-Earth Files folder and the same for the patch which can be found at moddb alongside the mod.

Thank you for the advice.

I admire how quickly you get things done considering how much it takes to program a single hair on a characters head and i am so glad that you give me help i hope your mod does well!

PS

if you see a comment with a font in capital italics bold underlined and twice as big a font saying ''thank you'' that means it worked. :p

This may not be the right place to post this thread, but I have a question about playing online.

I have been playing LWR 1.41 with BFME 1.03 against the computer, but wanted to play multiplayer.  I downloaded T3A, and patched to 1.05.

So now, if I log into the original BFME, it says im running 1.05, but in LWR 1.41, it only says 1.03.

Was I supposed to transfer something into My BFME files? Everyone seems to be 'running a different version of the game."

The launcher technically bypasses 1.05 instead of running it.

So it will only say 1.03.

Probably I've never tried but I hear it works like the normal game.
