Hi there,

here you can post any ingame bugs that should be considered in any future patch development.

"To know what question we may reasonably propose is in itself a strong evidence of sagacity or intelligence. For if a question be in itself incongruous and begs for uncalled-for answers, it holds, sometimes, besides embarrassing the proposer, the disadvantage to seduce the unguarded listener into giving absurd answers, and we are presented with the ridiculous spectacle of one (as the ancients said) milking the he-goat, and the other holding a sieve beneath."

there is this bug with heros in general and lurtz specially
hero powers like smite, gandalf estari light,  faramir arrow and lurtz cripple ... etc if other unit or hero moving in some distance the firing hero just stands there until the fired at gets out of range then uses the power but for lurtz the criple just get wasted for others the delay might get so long so the fiiring hero mught get killed from other units or kill the fired at in his base so far away !!

please consider fixing this in future thanx in advance :)

I really, really hate the bug where trolls forget they're carrying a tree and start punching stuff normally again.

Had that happen 3 times while playing against Mathijs yesterday (in a ~20 minute game).

Curiously enough and if I recall correctly, 2 of the 3 were trying to attack the top-right warg lair on Andrast - but this might just be random bad luck.

As to the frequency of the bug, I'd say I have it happen somewhere between once a game and once every 2 games.

As buggy and frustrating as this might be, Lurtz's crippling strike has a max range. If that range is exceeded, the cripple will miss. "Fixing"/removing this max range would make Isengard way too strong. Imagine just... as soon as Gandalf was in cripple range, he'd be done for. It's part of microing to evaluate whether a cripple will hit or miss. So is cancelling Lurtz's crippling strike as soon as you think he's out of range. As for the other things you mentioned, you can prevent getting hit by abilities if you run/move in circles around the caster. You'll never get hit by Eowyn's spear if you just keep flying in circles around her. This has been acknowledged as micro by most players and is therefore not forbidden to use in tournaments like clanwars or similar. I don't even think this is fixable, and even if it is, I wouldn't touch this "strategy" as it's been used for quite some time already.

There's some sort of "event" that triggers this bug normally. I don't know if it's fixable... but we'll take a look. And if it is, we will need to see what we want. I don't know if this bug is forbidden, but it has been discussed a lot already and is not really appreciated among most players.

If you guys want to implement as much stuff as possible from the stuff maddox mentioned, im with u guys and i would like to impement em as fast as possible. (i think one weekend should be enough).

Beside that i would like to change a thing, so that the buildings start building without a delay. Sometimes buildings need a few secs until the worker starts to build, sometimes it starts asap.

I'd also like to see the changes suggested by Maddox, but the majority of the community doesn't fancy balance changes, so we'll have to accept that for now. About the worker: I'm not sure. But if you can find a fix to that without actually removing the worker, this can be discussed. :)

The solution for me was: make the worker invisible and make the movementspeed incredible fast. It will solve the problem. If u dont want to have the worker invisible, it will work too. But why do u wish to see the worker?

There were a number of topics on GR about bug fixes, so looking at those is probably a good starting point:

  • Some heroes follow targeted foe rather than firing, and the abilty cannot then be cancelled. It means the hero will walk into certain death and nothing can be done to stop it. Happens to Eowyn and Faramir mainly.
  • S bug... basically by pressing S the opposition cancels your current orders. In otherwords you lose control of your men and have to keep reissuing orders every time player presses S. It's a bug because it does not happen in any other RTS and is not meant to happen in this one. It was considered a cheat by the last two GameSpy admins. The "pros" knew about it but never included it any tips of the day or strategy reviews; they kept it secret and gained an unfair advantage.
  • Heroes using two abilities simultaneously; Gandalf is the prime example. It was considered cheating by GameSpy.
  • Horses getting stuck on castle walls.
  • Banner Carriers vanishing when last man but saved from battle
  • Garrisoned outpost bug fixed where archers inside refuse to shoot out
  • peasents getting hung up on the door at start of game
  • destroyed walls were meant to give PPs

There's a few to keep you busy ;-)

Most of these sound perfectly fixable to me.

Because it makes it more realistic. Having buildings pop out of the ground randomely when there has always been a worker doesn't really sound appealing. Or do buildings pop out of the ground? :p

It's true you don't see many workers, and this has given rise to the belief that buildings just spring out of holes in the ground! Which is of course ridiculous. ~ Gimli

I made the changes in my own "patch" year ago or so.. if u want i can check if i still have the files... its not popping out of the ground.. it just starts asap...without a random delay.

Or what did u mean?

You can also pm me...

You can change the AcceptableAimDelta to a bigger value (or add it, if it isnt already there) in the weapon to fix this.

There is a little bug that happenned to me yesterday. I've never seen this bug but a player told me it happens since patch 1.03 but I can't demonstrate it.

Basically the bug happens with Mordor trolls when attacking with some of them the game goes out of sync.

Can anyone confirm this is a real bug? or is it just a player who tried to cheat in the game?

Were any of these ever fixed?

Would be great to have the old (not the current set up) QM back up and running.
