I am very new to the mod after stop playing RA for like 10 years. I play this mod because someone on facebook had told me I can play as Japanese on this game :D.

And Holy cow, the campaign is a massacre. I still stuck on allied mission 2 before I decide to play skirmish instead.

As I said, I played PF and It's so hard even against easy AI since every mistake you make will be severely exploited by massive wave of mid-tier unit or few high tier unit which you have little to no defense against.

So far I had played very few game since it crash everytime I scroll the map. So far I play only as PF against PF to learn how AI deal with me.

PF vs PF is strightforward. They sent infantry early game, Kappa and Zephyr mid game, and Blizzard/Hailstorm/Battle Fortress late game with constant harass from rocketeer, chrono legionnaires/siege cadre in BF, barricudas, or just spy to steal tech/money/shut down power.

PF vs China. Crazy Ivan is a SOB. Without Pillbox or GI, he will wreck an entire base by himself and after he cripple you enough, Ai will send high tier unit to crush me. In my case, it was 2 kirov.

PF vs US. I was sloppy and let my chronominer astray and picked off by abram tanks. US paradrops on my base on constant basis and attack my front with bulldog tanks and strykers. And then they send basswaves unescorted to destroy my defense. I have to split my Zephyr against them and send them back to kill tank drop in my base. By the Late game, they swarms me from all angle with Warhawk on the sky and abram tanks on the ground. As usual, rocketeer is AI's favourite to harass me at every stage and every moment in my game.

At this point, I scared and decided to find out some guide.

Thus, this topic was create.

In short, help?

Build more gun turrets. For every gun turret, have 2 pillbox to protect it.

Have an AA turret or two around as fast as you can to stop rocketeers.

Ignore building infantry except dogs, rocketeers and Norio. This is the best way to prevent spies.

Creating a strong and unified defensive line is better than spreading them around. For AI only attack one place at a time.

Watch your miners carefully.

At late game, have a huge amount of cash and build Battle Fortress with 3 GGIs, 1 SEAL inside, repair Tsurugi, Hailstorm. Lots of them.

Have fun blowing everything up.

Ways to win on Skirmish:

- Try to destroy your enemy's miners as soon as they build one. In that way, your enemy will lose a lot of credits. But remember, they might or will retaliate.

- Build a lot of walls! Trust me, they will greatly help you.

- Build recon teams in early game to know much about the map you are playing. With this, you can find tech structures which you can capture or see what your enemy is doing. But don't forget to build defenses/troops too, the enemy might take advantage of you not on guard of your base.

- If you find crates, get them as fast as you could. They will greatly help you.

- Don't waste your money.

- Build up your force that will destroy your enemy's base and forces when you have enough money. But don't forget to defend your base.

- And finally, use your forces efficiently. All of the game's units has special abilities like the Cavalier Tank. The Cavalier Tank gets faster reload rate when it keeps on attacking its target. When you will know these things, you will surely win.

Ooops, I became too deep. Just be wise, alert, clever and vigilant in-game so you will win :)

I have found out, that when I play as Confederation against China, Mortar quads for T2 and Hijackers for T3 are great against Nuwa cannons. Also, Drakuvs are fun to use against buildings. On one map (Carville's cliffs, or something), they can also damage buildings through cliffs! From above!

This is what I see when anyone misspell Fury Drone as Furry Drone

I made a youtube playlist of songs that may have inspired mission names (at least 50% is correct and seen by Speeder himself)

When I play skirmish as PF, my basic base build is this:

Barracks

2-4 Power Plants

4 Skyrays on the four edges of the CY while at the same time Ore Refinery

Airfield/War Factory and more power plants with several pillboxes and gun turrets defending key points

MORE SKYRAYS

Etc.

The trick to having an effective base defense is to group the defenses instead of building in a straight/crooked line. For instance, a group of 3 Skyrays packed together do more damage by focus instead of building 3 in a straight/crooked line, and it also applies to every other defense in the Allied arsenal. To solve your Spy/Hijacker/Crazy Ivan problem just build several attack dogs and spread them out in your base and entrances. After get up the tech tree, go with Robot Tanks and Seals to take over anti-infiltration. Here's a trick to help with high-tier spams on PF. BUILD THE ZEPHERS, BLIZZARDS AND HAILSTORMS. They actually do really well in base defense if positioned right, and the AI wont order the units to avoid the indirect fire. And lets not forget Norio and the Black Eagles. These will help in nerfing down the spam attack, just watch for flak, for Norio is still fragile to it. Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for all the helps. Base defense really help a lot.

PF vs US on Couplet

AI seems to have a problem building in tight space since they can't place tech lab, ore refinery, defense and such. As a result, they stuck at mid-tier unit until I build aircraft carriers, destroy some building and then they build tech lab. Only then, they start beelining abram tanks against my base.

With choke point like one in Couplet, only threat I have are rocketeer squads and a few destroyers.

I suppose these patterns are old westwood's stuff. Because when I fought easy AI on snow plow which have 3 choke points wide spread across the map, AI flanked me with combination of abram tanks and warhawks which gave me impressions that AI outsmarted me somehow.

I have also notice a weird bug. Hailstorms keep attacking itself when they are trying to land its plane. This bug occurs when I park them at the mid-island resort between 2 sides. When I move them off to the road or press S to stop, only then, they stop for a while.

PF vs US on Snow Plow take2

"Defensive building first" works. Prism Tower network shut down drops effectively, until late game when AI sends 8-10 bulldog tanks against my front and destroy one prism tower anyway.

Somehow, they flanked me from both side with basswaves and infantry. Abram tanks and Warhawks are obsolete against norio and rocketeer fleet. When I attacked the AI base with Hailstorms and rocketeers, AI defended the base with infantry, aeroblaze, and grand cannon. That's it.

Paradrop and Tank drops is constant harass they do in this game, but the moment I put gap generator in my base, they changes drop location. I deduce that paradrop primary target are MCVand war factory.

I started to feel weary and bored using PF. They are not mobile force. The only fast unit I used are rocketeer and Norio, the rest are turtle unit. So I guess this is faction's best trait. Slow like a turtle, but crush like a hail. LOL

US vs PF on Snow Plow

Yep, I switch side and play US against PF. Kappa tank everywhere, but no Zephyr this time. Weird.

Basswave. I miss Hailstorm instantly since everytime I attack, enemy AI's anti-air will attack the plane and reveal their position which make me target them easily. Basswave can't do that without somebody to clear the gap generator or take hit first. To compound the problem, basswave are useless against everything else which isn't building. It deals pitiful damage against chronominer.

Abram tanks and Warhawks kill everything on ground once you have sufficient number of them in the field. I guess I have a thing for flying units.

Cryo-legionnaires are stupid. They kill infantry slower than siege cadre. I'm not kidding you.

A Barricuda can deal tech lab half HP. Wow.

Bulldog are faster than Kappa tank and, thus, more responsive to every flanking the AI do to me.

I will try the matchup against EU next.

It's good to see that you're fast on the uptake on a different faction. Have fun.
