So, has anyone watched this? I just finished yesterday and loved it. Brilliant acting, cinematography, music, and script. It was, in the words of Billy Bob Thornton's character; 'aces'. Ten 50 minute (or thereabouts) episodes, a well-crafted arc made up of an intriguing beginning, exciting middle, and satisfying end.

Brief synopsis: It takes place in rural Minnesota. Basically a brilliant take on the classic 'rural cops forced to take on terrifying murderer'. I don't want to say much more about it because the story is so tight and well-written that it is very easy to spoil.

Yea, didn't that just come on?  Something about Billy Bob being a dirty hobo that beats people?  That sounds like quality TV to me.

The show's finished?  There are going to be more seasons, right?

From what I've seen, I highly doubt it. The story is told.

They did a Fargo TV series? Weird. Did the Coen's have anything to do with it?

They gave it their blessing, as far as I know.

Currently watching. Feedback soon.

*Update

Watched the first episode, and it's quite good.  Why Martin freeman is in it is a mystery... his American accent is a bit weird when he's speaking very quietly, and he often does.  But he was good, and it had a little bit of everyone in it, including Saw Goodman!  And unfortunately Colin Hanks...  Tom Hank's kid.  That guy is an awful actor and is repetitively boring.

Colin Hanks' character gets really great a couple of episodes in.

Freeman is in it I think because he's always been really good at these timid, confused characters (Arthur Dent, Bilbo Baggins, Watson to some degree). I thought he was great, especially when things get more depraved later on. And yeah I thought his accent was weird until I started hearing the same weird sounds in other people's accents, looked it up, and lo and behold, that is how people from Minnesota speak.

I know people from Minnesota, but none of them with accents that are borderline Canadian.  These towns must be waaay up north in Minnesota.

I loved it when they arrested Billy Bob and he went full Canadian on them.  That was such a great scene.  But I'm halfway through it now, and I just can't wait for Freeman to go full Rambo on everyone.

Oh, that might not be what I meant with 'depraved'. But good on you, keep on watching.

I'm just sad it's only 10 episodes and one season.  Just wondering what I'm going to watch after this... I've been told True Detective is quite good.  Me thinks the twice of us would enjoy that.

Watched the whole thing.  It was a really good ending, even though the guys I weren't rooting for won.  And surprisingly good music... wow-wow-wee-waw.  And that elevator scene?  That was amazing.  He just wrecked his new boss and wife just because Lester said "yes."  Awesome.

I read that. New cast, new characters, new story, possibly set in the same area.

I'm down with that.

I didn't realize there was more to the story.  I guess with the Fargo corporation, there might be more.  But can you even get better than Billy Bob Thorton?  We'll see, I guess.
