Check if you have version 1.12 and remove any cracks.

EA did NOT shut down the servers. GameSpy operated them. Once they kinda died, IGN bought their technology. Then they sold it to Glu Mobile, a mobile game developer, in 2012. Glu said it wasn't bringing any more money and - poof - all gone. EA's games had even a month and a half of life more than it was originally scheduled, so EA even postponed the inevitable.

Ah, that changes everything.

If you read the pinned Common Issues & Solutions thread, you'd have seen that The Ultimate Collection users require the fixed launchers if they want to connect to people using the disc/Steam versions.

This sounds like the same issue a lot of other players are having.  I'm not an Ultimate Collection player, but I haven't been able to play in over a month now (conn issues when trying to connect)  There is a problem with the NATNEG server and a lot of players can no longer play because of this.  I was told it's being worked on, but not sure when it will be fixed.
