A report of using a banned exploit (the "engi exploit") has been made against the Revora Member taqilah (playing as TrooperSquad) and the adjudicator has found the report proven, subject to any explanation that TrooperSquad might have. The report and decision can be found here TrooperSquad (aka Keskilla) - Engi Exploit - ® - Explain Yourself Please in the Gamereplays Kane's Wrath Fair Play forum.

WARNING If this report is publically confirmed, it is likely to result in a long suspension or permanent ban from online play. It is recommended that TrooperSquad put forward any explanation or mitigation that he might have within that three days.

The three clear days that TrooperSquad (Revora member name taqilah) was given to explain himself have expired but we have not heard from him. Accordingly, this report is formally confirmed.

Although it has formed no part of the decision to confirm this report, which was confirmed only on the evidence presented here, nor in the sentencing decision, there is ample evidence from IP addresses and other available information to be able to say that this player is the player known as Keskilla.

The tariff for a first hacking offence is 60 days suspension from online play. The exploit employed here is tantamount to a hack and equally as damaging. Using that exploit has always been treated as using that hack for enforcement purposes. Accordingly, I am going to suspend all accounts in use by this player from access to C&C:Online for a period of 60 days.

WARNING: An attempt to create a duplicate account to circumvent this suspension is likely to result in all of the Revora accounts held by this individual being permanently banned. At the very least, such an attempt will result in an extended suspension.

This decision is also published on GameReplays, here; TrooperSquad (aka Keskilla) - Engi Exploit - ® - Confirmed

I could understand the harsh system in a way, or at least i know what an admins job is, some players cost you the last piece of patience. But as far i think, a to harsh punishment will just force them to stay away forever, most players love the game... warnings will do a pretty good job in keeping your server clean and still have a growing community. Some guys do that kind of stuff because they think nobody watches them, most of them will stop it if they realize that there is someone watching it.

This guy here was not hacking, he was exploit-using, a huge difference in my eyes. Warn him first, if he don't learn ban him for 3 days... if he still does not learn double the ban each time. When a guy really hacks the game with some sort of additional program, give him an instant permaban.

Your admin live is much easier like that, alot less time to invest.

This particular exploit is not just any old exploit. It has to be done very deliberately and if done, there is simply no way to win against it. It is unquestionably a game breaker and quite frankly worse than any hack I know of. If this had been done while EA were running Fair Play, it would have resulted in an instant and permanent ban.

You can read a bit more about it here; Engineer exploit - Invisible Cultist exploit

This player, who is fully aware of the effect of his exploit and the way it will be treated, has merely been suspended from play for a period of two months. Had we not given players an fresh start when they came here from GameSpy, he would have been excluded from any participation here.

We are simply not going to send out a message that using an exploit like this or hacking will result in a slapped wrist. We will try our hardest to keep this a 100% cheat free environment and not coming down hard on this type of behaviour is not the way to do that.

Don't act like EA was superstrict in this cases, i play this game to long to know that bans 99.9% never happened.

«Comming down hard on this type» is what you should maybe rethink a bit. A simple black and white solution is easy for you but can be bad for the community itself. You will always have some grey sheeps in a community, as i said most will accept and stop it when they get warned. Giving players a chance to proove they have changed will result in a bigger community with more fair players. For a punished player its also way more likely that he does not want that others come away with the thing he was punished for. He could basically help to spread your words, i think you get my point.

It could be simple, just lower the ban-time from 2 months to maybe some days or a week, this way you do not have to send out warnings and the effect would more or less be the same. Of course if he had done it before and not changed his attitude, then scale up the punishment.

With respect, I have spent many, many hours attempting to enforce the bans against this player under GameSpy. He has come here and demonstrated that he has not changed his ways in the slightest. Notwithstanding that, he has received a rather light punishment for the most serious of offences. He might easily have expected a permanent ban in some environments. I am thoroughly un-persuaded that behaviour of this kind should be met with a trivial punishment. Other players can take a message from this: You cannot behave in the way taqilah did on these servers.

It is simple: we do not tolerate cheaters here. They are taking our time that we spend without getting paid and they are riding roughshod over our voluntary work. If someone is stupid enough to get caught there will be consequences.
Period.

"To know what question we may reasonably propose is in itself a strong evidence of sagacity or intelligence. For if a question be in itself incongruous and begs for uncalled-for answers, it holds, sometimes, besides embarrassing the proposer, the disadvantage to seduce the unguarded listener into giving absurd answers, and we are presented with the ridiculous spectacle of one (as the ancients said) milking the he-goat, and the other holding a sieve beneath."

I don't think my point was so hard to understand, players which get a small punishment will very likely not tollerate others doing what they have been caught for. So they automatically will spread your words and help you to keep your servers clean.

Don't get me wrong... in this Keskilla case here, it is absolutelly ok to give a long ban.

I call to boycott your services as ridiculous he be.

When the "cyber coffee" issue was raised on gamereplays last year (see here; demissionner - (aka Keskilla) Engineer Exploit - (TS) - Confirmed), it transpired that IP address of your "cyber coffee" had only ever been used by players that had a conviction for using the exploit in question in this topic. We do not want that kind of business here, thank you.
