I've got a connection issue with Red Alert 3. I am using the normal version from Steam and I use windows 7.

Everytime I want to play with my friends I can go into the lobby but as soon as the host wants to start, the game is saying this:

Connections are in progress or conection problem detected. Please wait for the connection to finish,or kick the player who has the connection problem

Failed Connection 1-2

Don't know why my friends don't have this issue when they play without me.

I saw, that a few days ago someone already reported this issue. Were you able to fix this yet?

It's a NAT Negotiation server problem. They are working hard on this, but the issue hasn't been fixed yet, but you can try to set your computer as DMZ zone :)

You'll have to google your router model to find out how to do it. Basically, it allows all protocols to be forwarded to your computer on the network.

Actually I can't connect to other players in Red Alert 3 even if I set my computer as DMZ zone :( Is there any alternatives else?

I don't know. Can you link me to your original support topic and I'll have another look at it.

Thank you. So you can join other people's games OK, but just not host? Windows Firewall could still affect you, even though you are the DMZ (I guess). Have you tried switching it off completely?

@psysub

I found these

Command & Conquer: Generals Zero Hour (PC)
TCP: 80, 6667, 28910, 29900, 29920
UDP: 432, 127, 900

on the EA CnC Help page.

http://help.ea.com/u...s-online-ports/

Edit: Cleaned up this post to remove the EA Red Alert 3 ports I'd listed as I found a post from ToxicShock recommending these for RA3

CnC Online RA3 forward these ports:

TCP 3783 (Voice Chat Port)
TCP 4321 (Mangler Servers)
TCP 28900 (Master Server List Request)
TCP 29900 (GP Connection Manager)
TCP 29901 (GP Search Manager)
UDP 6500 (Query Port)
UDP 6515 (Dplay UDP)
UDP 13139 (Custom UDP Pings)
UDP 27900 (Master Server UDP Heartbeat)

With luck I won't need to DMZ RA3 to play co-op again, but I've yet to test these settings.

Edit 2: I confirm a good co-op game using the above port forwarding

Absolutely rediculous that we have to use voodoo to play a simple game. Thanks EA!
