For those of you that might wonder…

Once again I must apologize for me going AWOL this fall. Those of you who know me, knows that this isn’t the first time I go missing for a period of time.  You also know though that I always return sooner or later. I still live by the ambition to never quit this mod, despite all the years of agony trying to reassemble the ridiculously long project. This is a hobby however, and from time to time when it feels more like an obligation than a hobby, it is time to take a break

A strong word of advice – don’t grow up and don’t grow old. From time to time, life just sucks the energy right out of you and I sure do miss the old days, back in school. Not saying school is easy, but at least it’s pretty structured and organized compared to what’s next. Anyway, besides the fact that I had a very sick family member a few weeks ago, my old car basically broke down and my laptop almost gave in at the same time (late summer), I’m fine I guess. It’s just been one of those periods again when modding falls way down the priority list, and even though I should flag before I leave for a while, coming here and chatting with old friends is far to addictive so every now and then I must take a break to collect myself, shift priorities, try to fix things IRL and gather new energy to go back to modding as it is a huge task to do now that I no longer have help with what I dread most, heavy coding. My excellent mappers, contributors and trading partners mean a LOT, but I still have to conquer the darn coding which is hovering above me like a big dragon blocking the sun.

Now, my family member is thankfully better, my old car is sold and I’ve bought a new one, and I’ve done what I can to salvage the worn down laptop. The new car made a big hole in the old wallet though, so I’m not gonna be able to get a brand new PC just yet. Hence I have to go slow on modding (modeling) and not stress the computer too much. I really need and want to finish my models before going back to coding though, so we’ll see how it goes. I think it was my poly heavy modeling in ZBrush that took a toll on the poor laptop that is running extremely hot while modeling.

Anyway, as always I’m not gone, just absent. But I’m slowly collecting myself and starting to put the finishing touches on the Bolg model now. I just need to work in shorter modeling sessions and not several hours like before which apparently stresses my lappie out to the point of boiling.

CU soon guys.  :toasting:

/Naz

PS, I'll answer all PM's this weekend.

LOL. this is so normal. I am Sorry for all the problems in your life, I can share those sentiments as well. You can rest assured that knowing you as long as I have, and these patterns you have, I will just sort of hang around until your return. Until the day comes when you say that you are "done, and retiring" I will wait.

BTW I still need to sort out my problems with the REPO.

Take a break, just as long as you need! Always remember that modding is just a hobby and no obligation after all ;) ! I hope your life goes well in near future.

That's actually such an adorable thing to say.

Yes, if THAT day ever comes, I would defenitely say so. Anything else would be unacceptable for someone who has gotten so much help from friends all over the world, as I have in this lovely community =) But no - I have no plans on quitting. I just need to focus on other things every now and then. Especially after running on maximum speed for a while, which can cause me to crash and burn when IRL crap get's too much. NJM, add me on Facebook. I'm online via my android. Drop me a PM and I'll give you the adress. We need to sort out the repo problem you have as I plan to update the repo for you and MTL so you can try the new gobbos for starters.

And, do check out the almost finished sculpt of Bolg in the Heroes section ^^

Ive reset everything on my end, basically deleted all my authentication information. So first we should try my log in and password, which i cant remember at all. then if they fail we create a new one.

I have a FB but it is off, for various reasons Im choosing to no longer take part in using it. I might turn it on temporarily to sort this out though.

I have fixed the repo problem and was able to back up everything. Im now back online and good to go!

yes everything is working. apparently when i updated tortoise it corrupted my authentication information. so I had to clear it all out since it was saved, after that it was a matter of loggining in again. which I had forgotten how to do, until just the other day when i cruised over to google code.

BTW MTL, when I was over at google code hosting for the mod, you were listed as a contributor. Are you not able to commit changes to the mod?

According to my page I don't have commit access. I'll post up a link in the staff forums.
