Is there any way you can change it back so you dont need a Generals promotions to build other generals stuff.

IMO i think you should take out the ristrictions Creator, its too hard not 2 destroy their base without gettin decent stuff

No its not, I managed to complete all the games with all the different players without any trouble... you just have to find the right tactics :rolleyes:

best tactic is with infantery gen build 2 barracks and do on 1 barrack 9 minigunners and the other 9 tank hunters ;) you got a nice army then and build a few inferno cannons and you can pwn every enmey :) :rolleyes:

nice tactic, my tactic is to use demo gen and build adv. demo traps all over the map, disable them and theyll work like cluster mines with radar.. very funny cause ai cant shoot them...

I say that this new "get promoted before you can do anything cool" thing should be optional. Sure it's new, different, and fun, but it has majorly changed the vibe of this mod. I'm going back to 0.02 :/

i like the resitriction but only thing is that all the factions should have money making units and structures from the start because this give the defence guy too much advantage while the offence guy gets screwed. supply drop, hacker and black market should be there from the beggining. the US (all factions) should have the raptor (non stealth) except the Air force which should use the king raptor (stealth). there is also a problem with some of the defece structures not detecting stealth like they should be. the sniper cannon on the overlord is just too powerfull only the troop crawler should have the sniper canon and the sniper canon should only be effective VS tanks and infantry and not that effective VS structures. there should be a build limit on the satellite hack there for chine (Forgot the faction that has it). the radiation from the nuke gen should not stay for such a long time. the range of the nuke tank hunter should be reduced. all rocket units should once again have the ability to attack aerial targets. the us chinook should be able to carry infantry. the super weapons tomahawk laucher should have a shorter range. the snipers of us should not have the ability to disaable vehicals. snipers are meant to be effective VS infantry only them being effective VS tanks is just stupid. a fire base with 4 snipers is just too strong. the iron dragon should be restored to atlest one of the chinese side (that thing rocked). the GLA demo should have a sucide plane (propeller driven) instead of that stupid guy sitting on the rocket.

in the satellite hack i meant the 3rd satellite hack where you obtain control over random general power.

lol damn Creator, didn't cut him any slack did you? :p

The only point I can maybe agree with him is the Chinooks... but not as a fighting troop transport. They can be very cools as a transport without having firing ports. To be able to air lift a tank and a loaded Humvee to the back of a base is very cool... but the Combat chinook does the flying fire supprt quite nicely.

but to my knowlegde the Chinook never lost carrying ability did it???

Zero Hour does need UH60 Black Hawks though. I know they overlap with the combat Chinook, but in real life they are just damn cool... I've flown in one and a chinook and I have to say there is no comparison. Blackhawk rides kick ass. It would make sense to remove the combat chinook completely and add the blackhawk in its stead, but I think its too much trouble to make the model and skin it just to replace the role of a unit without changing the function.

Between now and the next polished release there should be very little new art work done. Instead the focus is on designing, testing, and fixing. the mod has always been so close to finished that its nearly criminal. I'd love to see this through to the end with a real community effort.

i am a big fan of the mod and was just putting in some constructive criticism. :p

hehehe anyways i love the mod. just wanted to make the game a bit more tank oriented. because the current version is a bit more supportive towards the guys who only defend and not attack. about the Chinook, combat Chinook is not available to all us general so they lose out on transpiration capability.

Many have said that they like 0.02 better but i like 0.03 its much more mature. good work guys this is an excellent mod. cant wait till the 0.04.

PS: i love the flame general. :p

I would like you to explain something. Don't you want to answer on at least some of my whys? It would be much better for you to explain real disadvantages instead of saying about what you want to do.

For example. In the game chemical general vs nuke one you get such thing: chemical have no artillery to destroy Retaliators in the begining. Later he get mortar buggy, but nuke get nuke cannon which is much stronger. All mortar buggies attacking nuke base being destroyed by nuke cannons (especially if they have reactive shells upgrade). It is real disadvantage. Possible fix: make mortar buggy to be available at rank 1, increase its firepower and make Luna to be available at rank 3 to counter nuke cannons.

And what do you mean tank oriented game? Do you want it to be more stimulus to attack than to defend?

sometimes the raptor came to be really handy and i really miss it during the game.

The sniper cannon is just too brutal. it can take out structures too quickly. how about keeping it but make it more effective VS infantry and tanks and not against structures.

-there should be a build limit on the satellite hack 3 there for china
its just too brutal. you dont even have protection from it since the powers are random and fly in from any direction. if it were to fly over from your base to enemy base it would be better since a person can defened against it. this is mainly a counter against air based weapons like the A-10 strike and the carpet bombing strike.

-the range of the nuke tank hunter should be reduced.
ok there is nothing wrong with them its just i hate these bastards. they once blew 9 of my overloards. ;)

-all rocket units should once again have the ability to attack aerial targets.
-because you need mobile ariel defense. it was so cool to garrason a building with rocket soldiers and take out enemy aircrafts. plus they also came in handy to take care of helo attacks

-the us chinook should be able to carry infantry.
Well i miss carrying the dozers over the map and build a new base.

-the super weapons tomahawk laucher should have a shorter range.
well not too short but not too long either. in some small maps you can actually use the tomahawk launcher to attack an enemy base.

-the snipers of us should not have the ability to disaable vehicals.
because the enemy cant even come close to the base now if you have snipers garrasioned. atlest lower the time the vehical is disabled for.

-the GLA demo should have a sucide plane (propeller driven) instead of that stupid guy sitting on the rocket.
well it just look a bit out of place. not much a problem but looks a bit out of place.



New ideas.

About the mig only firing one missile at a time and then making turn to offload the second missile. it makes it less effective when attacking an enemy, many are lost during the attack run because they go too deep inside enemy territory. could it be made to fire both missile at the same time.

Why was the carpet bombing option removed from Air force Gen. it is one of its primary power.

About super weapons carpet bombing. can the third bomber be only available in the 5th level. having that option at the third lvl is just too strong.

the laser generals should get the blue and green lasers as power during the promotion at level 3 and not as an upgrade at the partical cannon. or those upgrades can be purchased at the stategy center after lvl 3. getting them at lvl 5 is too long.

there is a problem with the GLA rocket on the truck and the defence site. they just keep on follwing an aircraft even if it ahs flown a long distance. any rocket launched is almost 80% likey to hit its target. the rocket should die out after a while like those of other missles of usa and china.

i hate airforce. i am a more tank oritented guy. love the tank general. like the nuke gen also but in the the tank attack is a bit difficult because if even one tank gets destroyed it does a lot of collateral damage. i also love to make an attack using scorpion tank. the scorpian rocket is just too awesome. in a group they are very leathal.
