The battlefield engine does not have an SDK. Therefore you cannot alter the .dll code and you cannot alter gameplay mechanics (as much as it CAN be customized and pushed). Therefore:

-Meelee is not possible on the battlefield engine.
-Gameplay modes like VIP are not possible on the battlefield engine.

Don't even bother trying to tell me that I'm wrong.

I don't play this game. Never had. But there is always a trick that can be used to get around things and make it look like its doing things that aren't possible.

Hrm...this isnt possible?....well damn dude, you better tell the Insurrection 1776 crew to stop before they waste time trying to implement controllable bots for their officer class...oh wait, they alright have it done and are working out bugs on it...hmm...holy geezus batman, melee isnt possible on the Battlefield engine! You might want to tell that to the Siege crew, who implemented shields into combat, as well as making polearms a possiblility(and also work on this site), in addition to the one japanese kid who made Sengoku as a final(if i have heard correctly) for school and made an awesome close combat system...too bad they arleady did it before you told them they couldnt =/

I have no patience for people like you. Fool. You can do anything you need/want to do. You just need people talented enough to do it and we've got them. Go bug some other people. Honestly. And VIP is really simple, but I'm not getting into details of game modes here. Bugger off.

you cannot alter the .dll code

Absolutely and completely wrong.
You don't need an SDK to change stuff like that, but it helps.

Nice choice of name...

umm that was the stuippest comment i ever heard. anything is able to be changed in any game. dose';nt matter if there is'nt a SDK, it can be done and it has been done before with many other games. Remember, there is no limit to anything inless U can't pass that limit. i think the DoC team will have somewhat of some hard times and points in codeing and creation, but the point is, they will figure it how some how or some way. they are a good team and it looks very promissing. to post a comment like that only shows how much of stuipity walks around this world. its just stuiped.

What are the combat knives (and the bayonets in 1942) classed as then?

Well, when it comes to writing an expository essay about counter-insurgent tactics, I'm of the old school. First you tell them how you're going to kill them. Then you kill them. Then you tell them how you just killed them.

*Smacks the living shit out of you*

:p watch, we will change not just the models, but the game it's self.

Sengoku pulled Melee style off quite well, we will just do it better.
