I dont wanna ask stupid questions so.... Faq?
Im a little more excited about this then Paradox. I can do some textures but no 3d as I dont have 3ds max. Any way I could help out?

So long as you have a way to view the object in 3d while texture, then we could really do with help there. I'll PM you.

As for a FAQ, that's a good idea. Maybe we should open our forums on ModDB and pace them there.

Oh thats actually nice to know, I mean campaigns are cool don't get me wrong, but I'd rather a mod come out sooner and then maybe come out with a campaign later.

Still, without a campaign, thats all the more reason why I feel like you may as well include the original factions, as long as it wouldn't make the mod any more difficult to make in some way.


Actually, that's the reason we why we probably won't include the other factions. Playing online, means you are attempting to beat other players. If the new factions aren't balanced against the old ones, they could either be over powered or underpowered.

Ya i figured, but it would still be really cool just to have the option, even if they aren't balanced and even if it doesn't make sense in the story. I mean they wouldn't have to show up in the campaign or anything.


It's unlikely we'll have a campaign, the mod is more designed for online gaming. We'll just have to see how we progess. A campaign would take a lot of work, and currently I believe it's not possible to do a proper campaign, just scripted maps.

While it is possible, it is unlikely we'll be doing this for a number of reasons:

The factions are going to be designed to be balanced against each other. The new factions have a third super weapon, new support powers and new support units. The old factions simply won't be balanced against them.

Secondly, the MOD is designed to be set 26 years in the future, so the original 3 factions don't exist at the same time as the new ones.

Here's your chance to contribute to Red Alert 3: Unleashed and name a unit.

The rules are simple. Post a reply to this thread, specifying the Unit number and your suggested name. The best names will go on to round 2, where you will get the chance to vote for your favourite.

Here is a list of the 12 units you can name:


Unit 1: AntiVehicleInfantry - Male unit, a single weapon bionetically grafted to it's arm.
The "Unknown Name" uses a Channeled Energy Weapon to focus all the psionic energy from it's mind into a beam which can tear through enemy armour. The "Unknown Name"can also channel this energy in a different form which disables enemy vehicles.

Unit 2: AntiAirVehicleTech1 - Tracks/wheels, cannot travel on water, multiple rocket launchers.
The "Unknown Name"uses rockets to fire at air units and ground units alike. It's secondary can target any ground or water vehicles with a special energy which lowers the armour.

Unit 3: AntiInfantryVehicle - Tracks/wheels, cannot travel on water, single machine gun.
The "Unknown Name"is armed with a rapid firing machine gun for killing infantry. It has the ability to heal itself when damaged but this renders the machine gun unusable for a short time.

Unit 4: AntiVehicleVehicleTech3 - Two way transformer unit, Tracks/wheels, cannot travel on water, deploys into radar turret.
The "Unknown Name"carries a psychic wave weapon able to take out most heavily armoured tanks. In stationary mode this versitile vehicle is an asset on the battlefield, as it can support your army with it's damage boost and large visbility radius.

Unit 5: AntiStructureVehicle - Hovers, can travel on water and land, single barrel, radiates psychic energy from deployable antenna.
Able to take out structures at long range, the "Unknown Name" uses high yield tank shells, and radiate psychic energy that damages all units within range over time.

Unit 6: AntiAirShip - Naval unit only, single barrel similar to Pulse Tower.
The "Unknown Name" has the same energy based weapon as the Pulse Tower but can only target air units.

Unit 7: AntiNavyShipTech1 - Hovers, can travel on water and land
This amphibious unit uses torpidoes on water, and a machine gun on land. The "Unknown Name" also carries the unique ability to transform into stationary turret, diverting all motive energy to it's gun. However this transformation is permanent.

Unit 8: AntiStructureShip - Naval unit only, hanger doors open to release drones which are built on ship to replenish supplies.
Loosely designed on an Aircraft carrier, the "Unknown Name" sends suicide drone crashing into the enemy leaving burning fuel to continue the destruction. The "Unknown Name" can also launch a small barrage of missiles to do fire damage over a wider area.

Unit 9: FighterAircraft - Batteries are visible (pink glowing crystals/tubes)
Outfitted with a pulsing version of the Channeled Energy Weapon, the "Unknown Name" can make short work of enemy aircraft. However, the channeled energy is stored in batteries which must be charged when empty.

Unit 10: AntiGroundAircraft - Similar to the Twinblade, pilot controls unit psychically.
The "Unknown Name" is fitted with a small machine gun, but further damages ground enemies with intermittent psychic pulses from it's pilot.

Unit 11: BomberAircraft - Protectiles are missle based that glow with psychic energy, pilot has parachute.
The "Unknown Name" uses high damage projectiles and can detonate a psychic blast at the sacrifice of it's own health. On destruction, the units pilot, a Crusher, is ejected to land safely below it.

Unit 12: SupportAircraft - Slower moving, small engines, looks like a metal blimp.
The "Unknown Name" can enlarge allied units enabling them to crush those beneath them. It can also boost other units' health in one shot, but this ability takes time to recharge.

We're going to continue to update the site, and release the site to Moddb at the same time we release our first demo of the MOD. Hopefully that won't be too long now.

The gameplay will stay pretty similar to Red Alert 3. However there will be some changes that will mean gamers will have to rethink strategies:

  • Each faction has 3 levels of Super Weapons
  • Ore nodes will be supplimented with Precious Ore nodes, similar to the way you had ore and gems

Hopefully, these combined with the Red Alert 3 engine will make for a pretty good play.

United Coalition
  • Build System - 100% deployment time, with animation of drones putting building together.
  • Money System - Refinery. Ore collector carries more, but is slower than FT version.
  • Tech System - Tech building upgrades all buildings to Tier 2 then has a buyable upgrade for Tier 3.
  • Expansion System - Deployable mobile crane from War Factory.

Future Tech
  • Build System - 50% build time, 50% deployment time, with beaming animation.
  • Money System - Refinery. Ore collector carries less than UC but moves quicker between mine and refinery.
  • Tech System - Tier 2 and Tier 3 are buyable upgrades at the Conyard. Requires relay to be built to get T2 upgrade. T3 requires T2 upgrade. Once researched all relays on the map are upgraded to that tech level.
  • Expansion System - Deployable outpost with larger range than UC Mobile Crane

Children of the Sun
  • Build System - 100% build time minus 3 second animation of building coming together looks like its constructed by telekinesis
  • Money System - Refinery, with 3 Ore Clones. Ore Clones can be built at refinery.
  • Tech System - Tech building upgrades all buildings with a certain range. Has 2 tech structures
  • Expansion System - Deployable outpost with larger range than UC Mobile Crane. Code permitting - Outpost built from a War factory within range of a tech structure gains the tech level of that tech structure, when deployed all structures built within outpost range have the same tech level as outpost.
