Grim's hero mod does in fact work, and I highly recommend it.

The mod (along with everything in this game it seems) is very old and the owner seems inactive.. But whatever, right? So I download the installer and I'm using the owner's guide (http://forums.revora...elp-version-13/), but it's telling me I need patch 1.06 (http://i.imgur.com/RMS932i.png). I go to that page and download the button that says it includes patch 1.06 (http://i.imgur.com/wftKRS9.png), but I already had that. Regardless, I download it anyways and (re)install it.

I run the Elven Alliance installer again, and it tells me I still need patch 1.06.

I've also had no luck whatsoever trying any other mod... I guess I'm just incompetent with computers.

Help would be greatly apprciated, this forum has already helped me plenty in the past though -- thanks for that!

Check in your BFME directory typically found at "C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\The Battle for Middle-earth ™". You can see what patches you have installed by the .big files with underscores at the beginning of the directory

Spoiler

You can see that I have patches 1.01, 1.02, 1.03, 1.05, and 1.06 installed. If your directory does not look like this, then you do not have 1.06 properly installed and it won't work correctly.

These DUMP files though... :p

Yeah make sure you have 1.03, 1.05 and 1.06 installed before you install the Elven Alliance mod. :)

Install 1.03 first, then 1.05, then the T3A:Online Launcher (which includes 1.06) and finally the Elven Alliance Mod. :)

Thanks for the help, however it would appear that I have patch 1.06 installed.

Do you have any further suggestions?

Perhaps someone could upload the TEACE mod in just a .big file instead of the installer, that way you could bypass this problem.

uhh; do you think you could help me find that someone? I don't even know what a TEACE mod is, or where I'd put it

I'm also re-installing LOTR online (through a torrent site that worked last time), maybe that will make a difference

You have forshire's Online Edition installed, I believe? That might be causing errors due to its shoddy programming. I highly recommend torrenting the original BFME1 because that way you can play TEA's improved campaign also.

EDIT: I'll briefly put up the .BIG file for you, let me know once you've retrieved this (it may still be uploading):

https://www.dropbox....ion1.3.rar?dl=0

You install this by putting it in the My Battle for Middle-earth Files folder inside Application Data, easily reached by typing %appdata% into the Windows search bar. Then you duplicate your BFME1 desktop shortcut, right click it, and make sure the Target field says exactly this:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\The Battle for Middle-earth ™\lotrbfme.exe" -mod ElvenAllianceCommunityEdition1.3.big

Obviously change the C drive if your game is installed elsewhere.

EDIT EDIT: TEACE is The Elven Alliance: Community Edition. ;)

I hate to be an annoying 12yr-old, but what other BFME1 mods work/are a lot of fun? I've played the patch 1.01 version on and off for 6 years, everything is so new I just crave more xD

edit: a few things

1: Does TEACE change campaign? I saw the first one was still Moria so I didn't bother re-playing

2: I downloaded SaF mod and it seems pretty cool. Can you combine the two mods?

3: Does SaF change campaign? ;)

4: If I have the same mod running on two computers on the same network, can you play multiplayer with the mods?

Thankssssss again!

Oh and is the "Grim" mod still a thing? I saw it and it looked pretty neat but I can't figure out anything else

1. Yes. A few new heroes and harder missions, mainly. I vastly prefer TEA's.

2. SaF is excellent (can I say that, being its founder?). You can't combine mods, unfortunately.

3. The currently released version of SaF does not change the campaign.

4. Yes, you can.

5. Grim's mod is dead, and I don't think it works on the current patch.

Other fun BFME1 mods? Well, I mostly play TDH, TEA, and SaF, but Kings of the West is fun also.
