'Could not connect to C&C3 online'

Best Answer Claymore92, 29 November 2016 - 09:50 AM

VPN didnt work.

Did you try Security Kiss as VPN, and in case so, did you try all the servers from the UDP 5000 column?

I bought The Ultimate Collection from Origin yesterday and am unable to connect.

Error: 'Could not connect to C&C3 online'

Running Windows 10

I've tried everything: running C&C Online as admin, downloaded the C&C patch, turning off the Origin in-game option, launching the game from all possible ways (hooked/not hooked, etc).

Always get error 'Could not connect to C&C3 online'

We need much more information. Which games give that error? We need to know how you tried to connect. Please provide your error log if it TW, KW or RA3; see How to Report Issues for instructions.

Which games give that error?  C&C3 is the only game I'm trying.

How I've tried to connect?  I've tried it hooked and unhooked, with running admin and without running admin, using C&C Online to enter and using Origin to enter, with Origin in-game option on and with Origin in-game option off.  I then enter the correct user name and password (the one I created at cnc-online) and I get error 'Could not connect to C&C3 online'.  The only time I don't get this error is when I enter through Origin, and then the error reads 'Can not connect to backend server'.

----- C&C:Online Launcher Start -----
Game: C&C3
C&C3 Install Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Command and Conquer 3 TW and KW\Command Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars\
Started game with: "CNC3.exe "

Right, thank you. I think we have a networking issue. Please could you attempt a log in and then post in here immediately afterwards so I can find the attempt in the server log.

I am pretty sure that this is not causing the problem but you should install this too; C&C Ultimate Collection Launchers. That will fix some problems with TUC. You need install it only once.

Half the time I cant get it to properly hook.  When I do get it to correctly hook, I can not use C&C Online to launch.  I'll try the shortcut on my desktop when correctly hooked but I'm pretty sure it wont work.

Didn't work using the desktop shortcut when correctly hooked.  Get error 'Could not connect to backend server'.

I don't think that that is the problem. I can see you connecting in the log, but you are failing to make the "main" connection to Peer Chat (TCP Port 6667). Some providers block that but a quick google search did not suggest that yours do. I think the next thing to do is for you to ask them whether they block that port and if so, whether they are willing to unblock it for you.

If they are not blocking it, we need to start looking at other issues with your connection. I suggest that you ask the provider first though.

When I had connection problems with this game, not the one that you (the original poster) are having right now, using a free VPN software when playing the game solved the problem for me. I am not sure if it works out in this case as well, I pretty much know nothing about this stuff but maybe it helps.

I am using Security Kiss as a free VPN. If you want to give it a try, start it before starting the game and try out the different servers on the list.

Thank you. If it is a port 6667 block which can't be removed, that would (or a similar VPN) be the best solution at the moment.

Did you speak to your provider?

Actually, can you check that the in game IP address is one on the network that you use to connect to the internet.       If you have used Hamachi recently, that would hijack that address to its own address (it would probably begin with 25.*) and stop you connecting to peer chat.

Just spoke with my provider, they said they don't block any ports and there are no restrictions. You said "check that in game IP address is one on the network that you use to connect to the internet." How do I do that? I haven't ever used Hamachi, maybe I should start using it once this issue is resolved.

For my friend with the same error, it was LogMeIn Hamachi.  After it was uninstalled, the issue was resolved.

The in game IP address should start with 192. or 10. If it starts with anything else, it is likely that the game is trying to connect through the wrong interface. A Hamachi driver (for the sake of completeness) would start with 25.

First, before we move forward. How exactly should I be attempting to connect? Say I restart my computer... what is the first thing I do? 1) Open C&C Online as Admin 2) Hook C&C3 3) 4) 5)
