I am running windows 10. I removed Kane's wrath when EA took the server away. I have since resinstalled it. When I try to play Multiplayer-->online, it says I need to install the udpates. I click OK and then it appears to try and grab the updates but then timeout (Not Responding). It then gives another dialogue box that the patch update failed, try again. Is it trying to point back to EA servers? How can I resolve this? Thanks.

I expect you are right about trying to get the updated from the old servers. Did you launch the game from the launcher when you tried? If you did, the game ought to have updated.
If you want to try to update manually, you can get a link to the update (Official Patch 1.02) from here (in various languages): C&C:Online User Guide. Got to "Set up your game" for Kane's Wrath.
