Battle for middle earth 2 will have an updated version of the SAGE engine and i can say that it is impressive too !

I've seen what the bfme engine can do.. its proper shite to work with and it's EA.
its still sage and that makes it shitty..

EaW will rock to mod OW2 on.

You've never tried anything with the BFME engine boomer.. it's exactly the same as generals modding but with much more stuff and capabilities, and BFME 2 will expand MUCH more on that as well, mostly in the graphical departments.

i have :D im in the beta :) looks good its a improvement on generals but it still think the buildings are lacking detail

It's still EA and therefore i'm dubious about it...

How good was bf2 supposed to be? I heard stuff about it, never played it, but heard enough.. (I also really don't get any kick at all from playing them sorta fps games.. :D)

Besides from its talent at raping franchises EA is an immoral mindless psychopath, much like walmart.

i find it very good. the swedes who made the core game knows their stuff, but EA is good at getting others at making expansion packs, and they bloody well let those who buy the expansions use some of the weapons in original BF2!! its milking from hell i tell you. and we'll have two of something they call "booster packs" within this year after what i know, and basically its like an expansion pack, just a bit cheaper, but with half the stuff on them :S.

but its not a bad game, i like the potential of it. but then again im biazed because im modding it anyway :D

visually its impressive, yet buggy, and ea are indeed milking the tits off it. To me it just feels like desert combat, but a bit fugged, and its far too easy to rack up uber kill counts and camp the crap out of bases. its still good when you get it going, but to be honest, I personally find renegade a better team game than bf2 :D

Renegade is actually amazing. Well, sorta ;). The multiplayer was better than the shit reviews it got though.

I don't care about what's in BFME 2. Building detail, meh, means nothing when you are replacing them anyway. It's capabilities speak for themselves though.

i tought to been an good idea to have difrent collor to the Space marines, like the capter collors of blood angels, dark angels or somthing like that and eatch capher has it own specal weapon, veicles and/or powers. And give they the thunderhawk transport/bomber to suport the ground troops.

for tau, they can get those broadside batlesuits, like those forge world has newly gave out. And the AA version of the hammerhead tank to encounter the vulture and thunderhawk aircrafts. to give tau airsuport, i woud chose the baracuda bomber/fighter. and maby give them the orca, to transport troops over distanses.

The imperial guard can have the leman russ exterminator as an anti-infantry tank, and mortar, autocannon as heavy support weapons. And take the salamander vehicle as an scout, hydra flak tank to counter enemy aircrafts, and coud been used to have an stationary version of the hydra as an base defence...

We've had aircraft before in the past, the main problem was the aifield taking up a huge ammount of space, but you never know what time may bring.

The version after v2.0 will most likely contain:

-Hero Units
-New maps
-A new base defence for each side
-More civilian Structures
-1 - 2 more vehicles per side
and of course, any bug fixes needed

we've dabbled with making the marines different factions before, torns got a screen of some space wolves somewhere, but we'll have to wait and see if it actually makes it in game or not.

If anybody wants to, after what I guess would be v3.0 we might release the source files for OW containing everything we've ever made for the mod so that people can touch them up and carry on the OW legacy, that all depends on how bogged down we become with OW2, as if we're not tied up too much with it, then we'll just continue with OW like we are now :unsure:

On a note of the BFME engine, it is not good for a modern mod to be made on, or sci fi for that matter. Blitz 3 was canned because ea fucked up and never delivered on its promise in a timely manner for the tank and turret type codes to be released, and the project was scrapped since interest and motivation were gone when it was finnaly out. I honestly feel we need to go for a new engine, sage is good, and has done alot for the community, but honestly its time to move on, and im sick of EA.

anyways:
Empire at War is uber already, and we've not so much as played a Demo... just seen screenies, and I can almost guarantee they won't be doing the old EA lying bastard tactic of superimposing real explosions into their screenshots to make them look better, or simmilar devious tactics...
