I have a hunch that if you auto-resolve while still fighting in tactical, it'll just start the whole battle over again in auto-resolve, effectively negating anything you accomplished in tactical.Autoresolve is still somewhat strange.

Personally, I like to make little battle groups that vary from group to group, and have one of the strongest ship so that it's like the rest are it's escorts. My favorite is a Republic II Class escorted by two dreadnaughts, four CR-95's and sometimes a carrier or two of some sort of light cruiser.Everybody play with maxed out units? Only I find TIE Fighters & TIE Bombers that cool? (roleplaying reasons of course)
And sometimes I make little fighter ony units when I want to really be the Rebellion, throwing in the occasional Nebulon-B or CR series ship. Then I throw in the occasional Mon Cal ship, but only to guard major planets.

Amen to that.Autoresolve is still somewhat strange. I've already mentioned on this board one case (vanilla FoC) when after battle 2MC-80 + couple of squadrons + lvl 5 station vs ~40 VSDs and Interdictors i got tired of hunting few squadrons of TIEs and autoresolved... :o I've lost MC-80 :o
Best house rule: Do not autoresolve with your heroes over the planet. Ever.
I lost Vader, Mara Jade and Boba Fett to a couple of mines ¬_¬ .
