No problem for the double post brother - has happened to us all.

 

1] No there is NO AI issue with the NON-Steam, 1.26 DVD version of the mod. :thumbsupcool:  The problem ONLY appeared for the Steam version (and I fixed that as well, as I said above). The reason is that the Steam version has some updates in the AI engine - and it seems that the game crashes if you command the AI to build invalid researches (this was never an issue in the DVD version).

 

2] The Necron SCaR was an idea made by brother Roderick. We were discussing the possibility of the Necron Lord to be able to actually possess! You see, the AI engine was incomplete - especially when it comes to dual possession, like the Necron Lord's. That is why you have NEVER seen the AI to command a necron lord to possess... And no SCaR command worked either. So I created a (complex) SCaR alternative. It is at 95% of the coding, and at the point of release I had a different implementation idea - so this SCaR is "inert".

Do not try to enable it, as it is accompanied by MORE attrib files that are NOT present in the Unification mod.

If you want to know more on how the Necron Lord Possession fix works, just ask. In short, there is a small limitation with Change Players with this fix. That is why it was not enabled.

So does that mean 1.26 of 4egular unification still has ai issues they were fixed in the steam version? Just curious as I did find a few differences. Such as the Necron scar file.

No, it was an AI issue affecting both versions. It was something that I was responsible. There is no experience to be had by this, really...

I just messed up by speeding the creation of the Steam version!

Why does it affect Steam version and not the DVD one? do you suggest an upgrade for WG mod?

As fuggles said. Some coding experience (low-level) is required of course.

Thank God I have that :p so... I FIXED THE AI ISSUE AS WELL!!!

All issues remedied. We no longer have crashes, AND we DO have AI :xcahik_:

 

Phew.

 

FULL version will be ready soon.

Please add me as a friend is Steam, so that we can have some games. My brother and a close friend also bought the game, so we are 3 already. (I have my first two testing lab-rats :tongevil: )
