Use the mirror and flip tools in gimp. There are tutorials on youtube.

Alright, thank you, don't know what is gimp but I guess I'll find out

Not that I'm aware of. The unification discord is probably your best chance of finding someone knowledgeable.

Thank you, do you know where I could find a link to their discord ?

Hello anyone who read this
I have two questions about map making

I made the observation that a lot of maps are like done in mirror, the terrain is replicated exactly the same on each side of the map.
How to do this ?

is there a discord relative to Dawn of War modding ?

How to do this ?
If I could manage to do that I would be releasing tons of maps because it would be really helpfull.

The other question is how to import a terrain shape or a texturing from another map ?
When I import a terrain the terrain I imported is all messy and has no ressmeblance with the original terrain.

Thank you, also is there a discord relative to Dawn of War modding ?
I could create one dedicated to that, I have a pretty mod in preparation, something different and I would need a bit of help concerning the AI stratagy modding because I couldn't understand anything of it.

The Armour Penetration value in the armour_piercing_types that exit in weapon/abilities, is a percentage (based on enemy armour type), brother KebaxKapak.

Values are from 0 to 100. Anything above 100 is treated as 100.

Thanks but I wanted to know how the damage resistance [ (ebps/health/armor) - (weapon's armour piercing value) ] act on the damages.

Is it a percentage ?
What if the damage resistance is over 100 ?

Let's take that situation :

Target : health/armor = 200

              Armor type = Infantry Low

Weapon : Infantry Low piercing value = 50

                Damage = 100

Damage resistance = 200 - 50 = 150

so

damage (100)

damage resistance (150)

What happens between those two numbers to get the final damages value ?

Now, as for type_armour_2, this is ONLY used if you want a promotion/demotion to one of your entities.

For example you can have the type_armour (the "normal" one) as Infantry Med, and armour_2 as Infantry High.

And then, with the help of the enable_armour_2 modifier applied to that specific entity type (via a research for example) to "upgrade" it to the more advanced armour.

NOTE: The upgrade ONLY applies to weapon/ability damages. Otherwise, for purposes of targeting, the entity is STILL considered as type_armour (the normal one).

For example, if you want to "promote" a unit from infantry to vehicle for some reason, it will now be taking damages as vehicle, but regarding tageting, it will STILL be an infantry!! So no "melta bombs targeting" - but still "frag grenades targeting".

That's intresting ! I understand some things better, like the example of the melta bomb targeting, thank you !

In other words armor - armor penetration = damage resistance

So, to be definitively clear with it, the damage resistance is a percentage ?

If the damage resistance is 150 (armor 200 - armor pen 50) the target unit will take no damage at all ? Because it's more than 100% of damage resistance.

What is the exact effect of this damage resistance ? What's the operation it has with the damages themselves ?

///

I have another question : Is it possible to add a "chance" modifier under the armor stat in the ebps ?
Like under the "death_explosion" stat.
It would be cool to add such a thing to the armor stat, it would be like the chances of the projectile to hit a part of the armor or a part of the body.

Or under the armor type choice in the "type_ext" category maybe ?

///

Final question, I swear
Why is there two choices of armor in the "type_ext" (type_armour and type_armour_2) ?
What is the effect of "type_armour_2" ?

Hello every one passing by,

I have a question about a ebps value

Let's say a guardman

ebps/health/armor = 100

What if I turn it to 20 or 200 ?

What's the concrete effect of that value ?

Its like a damage resistance, changing it to 150 will cause the unit to take half damage, if the weapon shooting it has an ap value of 100 against the targets armor type. However changing armor to 50 can't increase damage taken beyond 100% of the weapons damage.

So if the target has 100 armor, and the weapon shooting it has 100 armor pen, then the armor is reduced to 0 causing the target to take full damage. If the target has 150 armor, and the weapon shooting it has 100 armor pen, then the armor is reduced to 50 causing the target to take half damage.

In other words armor - armor penetration = damage resistance

Thank you very much !
Now I understand why my marines are quasi-immortal since I changed the value to 2000 ^^
