With the expansion for Battle for Middle Earth II nearing release, EA decided it's time to revive the Middle-Earth Mondays (the MEM's). This weeks news isn't revealing much, but be sure not to miss the next two.

NOTE - the next two Middle-earth Mondays on 10/30 and 11/06 will have two fearsome gameplay videos, be sure to check back!

Check the Source for the official message and concept art of the Witch King and Rogash.

The Middle-earth Mondays were called to life to show us teasers of the BFME games. The last MEM was on the 1st of March, covering a final video teaser for the original Battle for Middle Earth II game. Now the expansion is nearing it's release EA revived the weekly teaser news. So be sure to check their site each monday if you're interested in the game :thumbsupsmiley:

Now, why would you want that?

Glad to see they started these again. ROTWK still sucks, but still glad they started some PR stuff.

IMO, they're doing a much better job with ROTWK than with BFME II. It looks like they've improved in many ways that are appealing to modders/Tolkien fans, and I praise them for that.

Yeah, its also a good sign that theyre doing MEM again, shows they really are putting effort into making it fun and appealing for fans.

I haven't seen much in the way of new stuff that opens doors for modding projects thus far. Just those guys who sacrifice minions to cast spells and being able to move an army in formation. Not enough for me personally to spend the money on it, nor the time to port anything over to it.

We all have our own opinions. From what we know now, I will get the game. Mostly because of the changes with the CaH.

Seems like quite a few good modders aren't going to buy it :(

Ow well, models and textures will be the same, only the code will see a few changes. With a bit of luck, porting won't be an issue and mods can be released for both the original as the expansion.

Well, for one they've hinted that they are leaving some moddable cool stuff possible in the code for some modders to come along and figure out.

I'll hate myself for it, but i'll probably end up buying it just because thats the kind of LOTR vid game fanatic I am. Also because every LOTR EA screws up has to have someone who is willing to fix all their mistakes for the greater good of the community :p

From what I've heard of modding in ROTWK, modders will be able to code in the Arnor units (as in the units that were included in BFME1) :p I have heard nothing else on the matter, and I've been keeping fairly up-to-date with it.

I personally very much doubt I'll buy it, unless I suddenly come across a huge amount of money somehow. I'm low on money atm, and with M2:TW coming out (aswell as other good looking games), I can't see myself buying ROTWK. Everytime I start to get excited about a new unit (DA Knights, Noldor Warriors), my excitement dies down when I see screenshots of them :(

I hope some modders do get the game though, just so they can give the community a good game, as I predict ROTWK being another disappointent :(

Playing games? Ah, you'll never be a good modder if you get involved in actually playing them!

I havent heard them say anything about this.
If the game turns out to be amazing i will buy it.... But i doubt it will. Anyone think they will release a demo?

Severly doubt it, it is an expansion pack after all. Hopefully knowing how much of a downfall BFMEII was compared to I EA will not release a demo (after all, it is for BFMEII right ), and just wanting all its fans to go out and buy it all without trying it out first.

hmm, I wonder if BFME2 (and exp.) would've sold MORE if it was "Battle of the swords and bows" and was a non-related LOTR game..... or, so they would say  I guess many don't get it BECAUSE their afraid that their LOTR loving will fade away..... but when the hate agains EALA just grows :D and remember, EA has MANY great games, but EALA has BFME2..... :D
