I expect exactly that to happen to me, as I try to avoid any serious ambition. If I set my standards low enough for myself, even slight success or minor failure will seem great!
Well, I feel all warm and fuzzy inside now so I'll go to bed.
And I'll probably delete this in the morning because I think it's probably totally pointless and you'll all hate me for it. I haven't slept for a while so I have an excuse.
Goodnight.

Live life to its fullest, because you're a long time dead. Futile or not, that doesn't prohibit you from self-actualisation.

And yes, most of us will be just the average people who are the gears and cogs of society... but if you have something you want to achieve, you may as well have a go...
edit: since when have I been an optimist? Must be too much sugar in my tea...

Once you accept that fundemental truth, all the world problems discussed here don't even seem like that big a deal!
I hope my potentially rich friends will have comfortable basements for me to live in.
EDIT: Oh, and when I posted this I was operating from the base assumption that you were smart guys and had ennough of a sense of humor to understand that this was in a humorous tone. I can only hope that I was right in that and none of you are idiots who will get pissed.

if I do something nice in my life, even if the rest of the world doesn't care, it will mean something to me, and that's enough 'nuff saidPrecisely! So my advice to everyone is: don't even try. No matter how well you do, it won't mean anything.

Your only saviour may be to cling to the hope that time is an illusion and everything happens at the same time forever.
So after you'e done everything you want to do I suggest you basically spend the rest of your life on mind-altering drugs trying to work that one out.
I'm serious.

Grow a fucking spine, the lot of ya. Go live your life, cuz you're a long time dead. There's so much to do there's no way you can't find nothing to do.
And if you still want to kill yourself? Don't talk about it. Actions speak louder than words..

"if you aim for the skies, you will at least hit the trees" is a nice line for this. if you give up early and go nihilistic, then you will not be able to get anywhere and you have fulfilled your own purpose, which was to give up becoming anything.
aim to become something and you will at least end up somewhere between that point and the start-line, which is alot better than never crossing the start-line. nobody has turned into anything overnight without putting alot of work into it, as there is no government institution that makes your dreams come true for you.
alot of people stop caring once they get a job that gives them an acceptable wage.

And, of course, I REALLY want to be super-rich.
Yes guys, stop talking shit! Life DOES matter because you can be RICH
Or have a really nice car
that's what it's all about
The only way that could possibly happen is if I was a rock star, as i intend to start a band, and even in that highly unlkely event i would not live the life of a rich person.
I DO NOT CARE ABOUT MONEY
Money has nothing to offer me
