All very good thoughts and points. :)

But at the end of the day, which ship destroyed a death star, and in the right numbers can and in the right hands can take on Star Destroyers, even Super Stardestroyers, and look classy doing it? Got to be Incom's little number with the quad lasers, everytime! Go Rogues!

In the book Solo Command, a Mon Cal cruiser had the Iron Fist (SSD) on the run. Which just doesn't make sense at all. O_o

Yeah, I can't say since it's been years since I read that, but, personally, I don't like that it's now assumed that all 8000-meter SSDs are Executor-class (although I'm not sure if that's an official stance or just a biased interpritation of a quote on Wookieepedia). They just seem to get wasted over and over in, quite frankly, idiotic engagements in the canon (RA2, XvT, Darksaber). I mean, who the hell is Admiral Senn and why should he be commanding the largest ship in the Navy? I think game designers and authors just tend to throw them in for the "wow" factor of it. Read the Enemy Lines duology; they do the ship justice for once. Also, I would love to find out what happened to the Intimidator from the Black Fleet Crisis.

I can tell you one thing though, if I ever end up adding some of these lesser-known SSDs to PR, fictional or not, they are going to be Superior-class and not Executor-class.

The ammount of SSDs appearing in books also surprised me.
I thought there were only a few ever made.

Well, "retconning" some to Super[ior]-class makes it a little more believeable; I mean, that's what the Executor-class used to be.

8000 meters...
Yeah, I guess it makes much more sense.

But I forgot what kind the second Iron Fist was.

Technically, they're all Executor-class now ;).

weird, cuz I thought the "proper" Executor was 19000 meters, not 8000 meters or some other variable number. ;)

Yeah, the court is still out on this one...I think we should just go with PR's personal interpretation of the evidence and not get bogged down in a canon arguement to which there is no clear solution.

My favorite ship is, and perhaps always will be, Slave I.

Regarding canon, I think for this game it should be followed as closely as possible without bogging players down into the tedium of it all. PR has done that from what I've seen. And the contradictions which appear in the books, movies and games he resolves with rather logical solutions which help me enjoy the game since I like immersion- that is all part of the fun.

And I don't mind if he contradicts canon even if he offers a more logical solution or perhaps a more plausible, alternative storyline than what might appear in a game or book.

I did that with the Thrawn hero upgrade I have in my mod, and I love it( I'm biased of course).

Razor's Kiss FTW! Haha.

But, yeah, I figure after all this work, I'm entitled to retcon a few things into making more sense. It's all part of design work. And you're right, we won't get anywhere by having an arguement about the Executor's length. My measurements came out closer to 17600 meters, but oh well... that's close enough to 19000 for me.

Well, Zsinj or other warlords are going to be a bit tricky since you have Imperial versus Imperial fighting. I could just give the pirates Imperial ships, but it wouldn't be the same. I wouldn't expect anything like that in the near future. Besides, Zsinj is annoying... he reuses names too much :thumbsupsmiley:.

Almost every warlord was against every other warlord at the peak of Zsinj's reign. It would be one big mess if you added it to mod...

Anyways, I've been bad here, getting off-topic all the time. >_<

I dunno, would it be sooo bad if there was a yellow (Pirate) fleet around Dathomir made up of an ISD, Victory Stardestroyer, some ancillary ships and shed load of TIEs? Sounds like the only way you're going to be able to get Zsinj into the game...

No, it wouldn't be that bad, but obviously pirates could not attack you offensively.

Gotta say, I really love those Skiprays, now that they seem to get the job done against most things big and are hardy enough not to croak when they get bounced by fighters, but my favorite award goes to the Acclamator-class.

They're fast, heavily armed, pretty darn tough, and when backed up by a bomber wing and a larger capital ship they just seem to become the fulcrum point in any battle I fight. Usually it's those ships more than any other that always seem to be the ones that decide the fate of the battle when the dust settles.

The executer's length i find is all based on the bridge's size but what if we look at the command deck.

http://www.theforce....m/kdyfaces1.jpg

if you look for the command deck on the executer here you might not see it because its further up then the isds

also if you find it its about half the size.

interesting eh?

I thought Saxton lined up 11 Imperial-class star destroyers on top of the Executor's outline to measure it, but maybe that was just for illustration. At any rate, I'm pretty sure the command tower on the Executor-class is much larger than the Imperial-class so it's hard to compare them in terms of scale - I know the one on my model at 19 km is much larger at least. Where did they get that Imperial III command tower from? Is that the "communications ship" from Endor?
