EDIT: Using this post to create a new thread about all things regarding TRANSLATIONS of SEE... /Naz

And also, my opinion on the matter:

My opinion is that you should wait for Final version. Otherwise you will have to redo things and ad and remove as we go along...

Hello all,
I do not have the chance, to play BFME right now, but I saw all those screenshots and the features and I must say: Damn great. I was searching for such an mod for BFME2. Well, some days are past, since you released Beta IV and I hope, you working on a Final version. One thing, I would like to see in the Mod would be a expansion of the buildings. Ahm, hard to say for me, I dont know english very good, but I want to see the buildings bigger. You now, I always hated it to see a building beeing smaller than people, so maybe if you could work on this, it would make the experience even more real. And a last question, that, I guess, will be denied: Will you release a german version of the mod? That is very important for me, because I am german and on LotR I like the german version better than the original. And it would destroy the atmosphere, to play half the game in english.

Thanks for the mod, plz answer someone, Yodaman

We always answer!

You are actaully in the wrong thread. You need to be in the comments and suggestions thread :p

I'm sorry, but unless you want to translate it yourself, it won't be translated.

There might be an expansion of buildings, but you will have to post that in the c+s thread.

Thanks for your suggestions! :p

Using this as a test....For some reason, I think my post count is staying at 574.

The problem with this is that i am the only german on the team. I have my hands full with coding so i can't do any translations. We are still on the lookout for a translator of the strings. Once the Changelog/transcript has been translated, i'll post a newsitem on SuM-Fanpage. If i can mobilize one of my old buddies from EM, or someone else trustworthy, this sure will be done. It's only a single file after all. Maybe you can push the idea on the german forums?

Yes, with some luck we might have SEE in not only English, but also:
- German
- Italian

Well, the reason for that post was cause we might have German and Italian people dooing that FOR us... not us doing it ourselves :p

So we'll see. I'll gladely have SEE translated to as many languages as possible - once done and assuming we can find that many translators =)

Cool! If you really wanna do that, start away! :p You'll need the file lotr.str (in the data folder). Take the polish version as a basis and copy paste all the new lines added at the end. Then start translating them to polish. Then the hard part: Check the game if any lines are odd or missing. Then go back inside the file to correct them. There are many new lines that are simply somewhere in the file, instead of at the end. Also there have been some changes to the existing lines. It will not be easy, but if you wanna do it, you'll have my full support. :p

If you really want to have as many languages as possible, I could maybe translate it to finnish :p Even though there may not be so many finnish SEE players out there but if you say that "SEE has been translated to X amount of languages" if X is big number, it is only going to be a good thing :p

I believe programs exist (WinMerge I think) that show you the differences between two files, so you can compare the two english .str files to see which lines have been edited. So that would help with translation a lot

Yes it would if you would have something to start with  But for example there is no finnish edition of BFME2 so it has to be translated from scratch but it would really be quite easy imo. Would just take ALOT of time.

Does the option to install it in hungarian exist? In that case this winmerge program could be just the way to do it.

Well, if noone else wants to, I could translate it into german. My Rechtschreibung is very good, I am writer myself, so I guess the quality would be acceptable. I also now the basics of LotR and its backgrounds, but the problem is, I have no idea how to mod. If someone tells me, where I can find the stuff I shell translate, I can do that, but without any help nothing more. Problem 2: I am in Romania right now and did my exchange year here. I am going home to Germany in 3 days. So in the next... month... probably... I cant work much. Well, if someone tells me where to find the texts I have to translate, I could make the work until monday, but because I am still in Romania, I also have no BFME files here.

If there is a way, to send me the needed files and give me instructions, how to deal with them, I would love to help you all!

greetings, Yodaman.

(thanks for always answering )

hey, what about using Babblefish to translate the lines? you could open the file and translate them directly with copy/paste, i guess. It might be a little sloppy, but at least it'd be something.
If I were you and you were me I'd have a different face.
