I'll give two sets of suggestions, ignoring realism and just being cool gameplay, and trying to implement as much realism as possible.

Realism:

Gondor: Denethor
Rohan: Theoden
Elves: Galadriel
Dwarves: Dain
Harad: Serpent Lord
Mordor: Sauron
Isengard: Saruman
Goblins: Gollum
Rhun: Lord of Rhun
Minas Morgul: Gothmog

Cool-ness

Gondor: Isildur
Rohan: Eorl the Young
Elves: Galadriel
Dwarves: Durin the Deathless
Harad: Black Numenorian Super-Sorcerer
Mordor: Sauron
Isengard: Some sort of monster
Goblins: Anclagon
Rhun: A Wraith
Minas Morgul: Vampire Fell Beast Thing
He who bears skill but lacks effort, makes himself inferior to those who have no skill but try nonetheless.

option 2 seems better .. i dont like the fact that most of the ones from option one are actual heros in the game .. i think new ones should be implemented ... though sauron and galadriel will stay the same

but even still option two seems a little bit off ... isildur doesnt fit i think it should still be denethor or maybe berethor (or isengard could have berethor in his corrupted state afterall it was saruman who corrupted him and got him banned from the great citadel)

Since reading the books, ive found only elves and the wizards and spirits are the only one who are capable to wield ring of power so think of it like that.

actually, i think we shouldnt worry about realism for the ring hero put whatevers the coolest because none can really use the ring of power without turning into a wraith so nobody's gonna use it...

it depends on the strength of it's keeper, Gollum wasn't strong as fx Isildur, if Isildur would have survived the assault on the Gladden fields, he would probably become the new Dark lord insteed of Sauron. Now when we are talking about it, that is the reason for Sauron's attack on Minas Tirith, he afraid for that Aragorn might have the The Ring in his possesion.

to put the power of the ring into isildur is to put the ocean in a small hole it's simply impossible. To completly weild the power of the ring you need to be as strong a sauron. gollum never turned into a wraith because he didnt wore the ring. I'm pretty shure isildur would of turned into a nazgul...

I have some ideas for the Ring heroes.

Gondor: Isildur the Doomed
Arnor: Elendil the Tall
Rohan: Eorl the Young
Elves: Gil-Galad, the last High King of Noldor
Dwarves: Durin III, King of Khazad-Dum
Mordor: Sauron the Great, forger of the Ring
Isengard: Saruman of many colors
Goblins: Groldoth, Durin's Bane
Rhun: Ungoliath, the maia in spider form
Harad: Akremendor, the Black Numenorian Sorceror

I think the Ring Heroes should be:

Gondor: Isildur Resurrected
Elves: Galadriel
Dwarves: Durin
Arnor: Gwaihir the giant eagle king
Rohan: Undead King( for coolness)
Mordor: Sauron, same
Isengard: Smaug
Goblins: Balrog of Moria (can still summon)
Rhun/Angmar/Minas Morgul: no idea
Harad: A Mumak King that can mount a mumakil and has some powers

While this would be so inaccurate, the fun factor would be immense, besides, the ring heroes should be a new hero, not an enhanced existing hero.

Or, maybe if you agree with these factions:

Gondor: Isildur
Elves: Gwaihir or Galadriel OR Galadriel mounted on Gwaihir
Dwarves: Durin
Rohan: Undead King
Mordor: Sauron
Isengard: Smaug
Goblins: Balrog
Corrupted Men: Mumak King

i have som ideas,

gondor - isildur (too cool)
rohan - eorl
elves - galadriel
dwarves - i dont think a catapult could use the ring and since the dwarves werent effected by the rings, thorin sounds logical
rhun - maybe both of the blue wizards, the most expensive hero and you have the pair of them and you would weaken them slightly and so they have basically a double life ;)
harad - maybe some pics of this "giant scorpion" but sounds cool, maybe with a rider who was wearing a ring. could this be that picture al hassan posted long time ago in the bfme 2 new huge mod (look down), because that was cool.
mordor - saron
isengard - while if the ring fell into isengards hands it would probably go to saruman, the idea of this bearded guy in a rainbow cape runnin around is so ridiculous ;)
goblins - maybe balrog or smaug

i also have some ideas in general for the heroes, what if after taking the ring, everything is normal and you can build a very expensive powerful ring hero, but it has a sort of timer and when time goes up it becomes a wight and fights everyone (i think i heard a similar idea somewher cant remembr), and gollum returns with the ring, because i remember that in the regular game once you get the ring you basically win and thats not really what happened, it corrupted the wearer.

6% of teenagers today are a bunch of informed NERDS, if you are one of the 94% who actually reads cheap magazines and a couple of schoolbooks, or anything besides the paper, copy and paste this into your signature.

90% of teens today would die if Myspace had a system failure and was completely destroyed. If you are one of the 10% that would be laughing, copy and paste this into your signature.

Gondor: Super Gandalf
Rohan: Super Gandalf
Elves: Galadriel
Dwarves: Grimbeorn
Harad: Great Scorpion
Mordor: Sauron
Isengard: Super Saruman
Goblins: The Balrog
Rhun: One of the Blue Wizards (Alatar or Pallando)
Minas Morgul: Super Witch-King

Keep in mind that Angmar and Northern Kingdom are now CAMPAIGN ONLY! They have been replaced with Rhun and Minas Morgul.

I actually have to agree with this:

Why I say Gandalf would be good for a ring hero would be that when he first encountered the ring (in the book), he could just barely keep himself from taking it. If he had another oppertunity, he would most likely take it. Also, it would be cheap for everyone to have some kind of Ring-Hero except Gondor. And I don't really like having a bunch of dead guys carrying around the Ring ;)

It was just a suggestion. I've heard a lot of people say it and I just wanted to say why I thought it'd work.

Hm... I don't know who Rohan'd get, then.

That's a good idea, and folks keep in mind it doesn't have to be a ring HERO. Overall faction upgrades might work well too - i.e. hero armor upgrade if Gondor gets the ring.
It has been reported that some victims of rape, during the act, would retreat into a fantasy world from which they could not WAKE UP. In this catatonic state, the victim lived in a world just like their normal one, except they weren't being raped. The only way that they realized they needed to WAKE UP was a note they found in their fantasy world. It would tell them about their condition, and tell them to WAKE UP. Even then, it would often take months until they were ready to discard their fantasy world and PLEASE WAKE UP

That would be cool but i doubt the men would be able to share the ring, eventually someone would take it

Ya, I read somewhere a really good idea for the Ring:

Since Denethor wanted to lock up the Ring once they had it, maybe it would make an economy boost and allow new units, and also make their units immune to fear, because they now had the Ring and Sauron didn't.

Also, the Ring for Isengard would make Saruman change into Saruman of Many Colors, as he called himself in the books, and give him much more power and strength. The only reason he ever joined with Sauron was because he was looking for the Ring in the first place. Once he found it, he planned to destroy Mordor's forces and take over as supreme leader of Middle-Earth.

Still don't know what Rohan would've done with the Ring...
