This week, Phoenix Rising, Mastermind and few other selected UAW fans in north america had the honour to visit the Petroglyph Studios to play the beta of UAW before anybody else. The experience was exciting and they've learned a lot of things about the game. Now, we are trying to make them share this information with the rest of the world. It's not being an easy mission, since they are very well trained agents, but we managed to collect some modding information from Phoenix Rising, which is a very interesting thing actually.

Phoenix Rising speaks about two tools that will be released in the day the game arrives at the stores. One of them is a data miner tool which will allow you to ballance the game and analyse your units in a much faster way. The other tool is.. ahhh! You'll need to read the article from Phoenix Rising. Here's a snippet:

I recently had the distinction of representing Petrolution at the Universe at War Community Preview Day out at Petroglyph's studio in Las Vegas, Nevada. As the sole modder to attend, I braved 100 degree heat, showgirls, and Elvis impersonators to get you the inside information on the modability of UaW. With the taste of Sin City still in my mouth, I'm here to report on those findings.

So let's get to it; I'm sure the single most important concern modders have to be asking about right now is when the official tools will be released. Those tools are so essential to the foundation of a strong community that it's just imperative that they're out as soon as possible. Of course with Empire at War, we had that three month delay in between the time of the game release and the release of the map editor and we still did alright for ourselves. Well, I'm pleased to announce that the official tools for Universe at War will be available to modders the day of the release! So start planning out those mods now, because you will be able to start in on them right away.

And thanks to this article, we've finally opened the UAW section at Petrolution. And the article, you can read it HERE. Enjoy it!

As the sole modder to attend,

I am offended by that remark. I'm pretty sure I qualify as a modder as well.
:p

Well, when it comes to writing an expository essay about counter-insurgent tactics, I'm of the old school. First you tell them how you're going to kill them. Then you kill them. Then you tell them how you just killed them.

Too cute! | Server Status: If you can read this, it's up |

Yea, Defcon is a nice mod for Generals. I had a lot of fun playing it some years ago.

Same, it just wasn't completed from what I could gather.

Anyway back ontopic here, I glad by this news, I'm sure the modders will be jumping for joy with this :) .

Soul 2.4

Background process. Has something to do with some activity going on somewhere. Sorting junkmail, I think. No value or interest. Doesn't do much except hog resource.

Yeah, I guess I meant to say "EaW modder." Oh well.
