These are new models for the old units. There are some weapon and balance tweeks aswell.

Cool. It's remade Mammoth from CnC3, right?

notably, the Artillery may yield its name "Ra" to the Ion Tank. As there will now be 5 versions of the Heavy tank, and the first 2 are already named Osirus and Anubis I will likely extend the theme with 3 more Egyptian gods. The artillery peices will have thier own names... Norse gods??

Maybe it can be interesting for you too.

Some slavic gods:

Agoonya - god of fire.
Viy - god of uderground kingdom. Comander of Chernobog's unclean forces.
Dazhdbog - god of sun.
Kitovras - god of courage. Protector of kings abd their armies.
Fire Volkh - god of war.
Perun - Protector of warriors and heros. God of victory.
Posvist - god of storm.
Radogost - punishing god. Right hand of Rod god.
Svarog - god of smiths. The great sky craftsman and warrior.
Stribog - god of wind.
Yahr - god of fury.
Chernobog (a.k.a. Kashchey, a.k.a. Zmey) - god of cold, death, destruction and evil.
Mara - goddess of winter and death. Chernobog's wife.
Chert - demon.
Bes - yet another demon.

yes. notably, I've made some small tweeks to it (sense recording the video), such as swapping the front and frontmid tire sets, so now the front tracks move more and the back less, looks alot more natural.

Maybe it can be interesting for you too.

Perun is sometimes called as the god of thunder. :good: Maybe it was modification of western Slavics, maybe mistake. The god of the Sun was called Svantovít in Great Moravia (ortodoxy Christianity mission, cyrilic alphabets was created there, nowadays Czech republic, Slovakia, Hungary, part of Poland; destroyed by ecological catastrophe and Hungarians).
Original Slavic pagan gods pantheon is a big mystery today.
In our country běs and čert mean demons (čert is still more childish and fairy-taleish character, sometimes even good), so it has remained. :good:

Note: 1.Slavík [slaviic] in czech means a nightingale. Slovan is translation of the Slavic in czech.
2.ˇ means soft vocal, ´ means long vocal.
3.Old Slavics used Guerilla tactics at most.
4.I'm gonna give RA2 Russians new Perun tank instead of the old tesla tank.

Different slavic peoples have some variariations of gods pantheon.

The god of the Sun was called Svantovít

It is western slavic god of sun.

Isis- Heavy Microwave Tank

the yellow light is the firing effect for its heavy microwave emitter. It has short range and inflicts only moderate damage to tanks and buildings, but it can kill crew and shuts down buildings. all infantry in the AOE are killed instantly.


Horus- Heavy Ion Tank

The Blue glow at the muzzle effect for the Ion Cannon. The Ion Cannon is a line of sight, medium/long range, extream damage weapon with good AOE. Very late game only, very expensive.



You may also notice these tanks lack an Aux-weapon. These have been removed for the purpose of allowing the modular weapons. Each tank in the serries will be capable of using any auxilary weapon you have unlocked with the apropriate tech. The addon will be purchased in the same fasion as an overlord addon.

Altrugh the names of the units are Egypian you could use frases from the bible for its sound, like: "May there be light...".

its the last one... it
ll probably be done today, then I have a couple more aux weapons to make (I made particle streamer yesterday) and I can start assembling them as addons.

They were put to the side, mostly... and I've still been making GLA models. I've made the new airfield and one new plane. I just had an overwhelming moment of insperation and wanted to run with it.

i can see the links now.

and my god.... is it strange to feel affection for amazingly reworked mammoth tanks? :p

and when there all done ...with the aux weapons coded and working etc.... it would be good to set up the small targeting laser on the top to fire the paladin anti missile laser. its just that small attention to detail that really refines it :sad:

just a quick question....

you are planning to make a different model wepaon for the primary heavy laser tank arent you? because the other new one on the first pictures of the mamoth tanks you posted...it looks a little bit weedy for a primary wepaon. it would be ok for a secondary weapon...but the over and under pulse laseres would look better as a secondary

the pulse laser will be a secondary only. The primary weapon will either be a heavier pulse laser, or twin lasers, or a ER Large Laser, or something... I don't know yet. But it will have a more beef than the aux version.

I will also be reworking the standard tanks. Laser will keep his most generic tanks, but will have tech-tree specific replacement/alternate for each role.

IE:

Std Laser Tank --> Pulse Laser Tank (Laser Tech)
Std Laser AA --> Mithril (Laser Tech)
Std Laser Artillery --> Particle Streamer (Particle Tech)
Std Microwave --> recieves upgrades from Microwave Tech.
Paladin(Med AT) --> Plasma Torch Tank (Plasma Tech)

APC and Repair tank do not get tech tree alternates.
Ambulance and Drone will be removed.

Satellite and Ion Tech will be reflected at the Heavy Factory only.

The Buttons will be aranged with Std units on the top Row, and thier Techtree replacements on the row benieth them.



the Heavy Factory will have the 5 Heavy tanks in the top row and in the bottome row, below each, the apropriate artillery/support unit of the matching tech tree. IE:

Below the Ion Tank will be the Ion Artillery, Below the Particle Tank will be the Omega Cannon , etc.

Not all tech's will give both unit types, though most will give Turret options at modular base defenses.




also, I'll see about releasing SOME of the plans from the Staff section to the regular forum. The plans that are the most "For Sure" will be public, and the "under discusion" ideas will remain private.

interesting.... so that means making plasma torch tank. the plasma torch weapons should be exactly the same range of the dragon tanks flame thrower. and also by particle streamer, i take it you just mean the penetrator tank that fires the one single particle beam?

for the pulse laser tank, you can use the old "ra" tank....the one with the pulse lasers and rockets on the back...but remove the rockets and add a power pack on the back or something instead of the rockets.



also....i think that each tech should have at least 1 defense.... wether upgradable from the blank defense slab, or being an individual advanced defense. cyber generals microwave turret will be swapped with the 30 mm gun battery, so there should be a heavy microwave defense. and also an advanced laser defense. something that is strong against tanks and air, maybe a laser chain gun or pulse lasers. The Ra artillery defense structure will become the ion base defense presumabley, firing ion balls (instead of plasma) at the same range.

and the plasma and particle defenses are fine. the satalite base defense could simply be a static version of the satalite caller.

I just posted the Laser General breakdown summary. It addresses most of what each tree will get.

I think that each technology must be more specialized. Good example is Hegemonia: Legions of Iron. All races in that game had 4 basic technologies:

Missile weapons - short range, slow missile movement, but great damage and bonus vs planets. Perfect surface bombardment weapon.

Ion weapons - long range, perfect precision, ion beam reaches target instantly, bonus vs energy shields, but small damage.

Quantum weapons - all-round weapon, large splash damage, good damage to planets, but bad precision and low rate of fire.

Proton weapons - bonus vs spaceships, high rate of fire, but small damage to planets.

Laser general technologies must have something similar:

Particle tech - bonus vs buildings, each shot remains burning magma pool on the ground like particle cannon superweapon.

Laser tech - bonus vs vehicles, but small damage to infantry.

Microwave tech - bonus vs infantry, can clear garrisoned buildings, can disable buildings, but small damage to vehicles.

Ion tech - long range, but small damage.

I did not notice any significant differences between these technologies playing Remix alpha version. Difference have to be very noticable. All weapon specific bonuses must not be 10-20%. They must be 100-200%. Range bonus - 2 times longer attack range. Damage bonus - 2 times higher damage. Rate of fire bonus - 4 times higher rate of fire. And so on. Disadvantages must be noticable too. For example, small damage means that damage had to be 2-3 times lower.
