Proper Military strategy would be to send x squadrons, etc,etc... but you should also be able 2 scramble all the fighters at once. OOOH idea! allow only a certian # of fighters out, but all of the fighter should scramble if the carrier ship is about 2 bust! Also you should be able to upgrade fighter compliment with a retrofit button, so that you don't have to sell the old ones and buy new carriers, but only up to the independent fighter level/s. weird ass idea, but makes sense right?

That's not really possible.

Why not a compromise? have ships that carry realitively few fighters spawn them all (say, ones that spawn 10 or less) and send out only one third of the fighters of all the others.

I have to say that all fighter should launch immediately. In Before the Storm, it says that it was New Republic tactical doctrine to launch all fighters as soon as possible, as a result of a wing lost with it's carrier. This probably applies to all different factions.

that idea of insta-spawn, but limited to he cannon l;oadouts, no restocks, or one "reserve" squadron.

the excutor would be a real pain though with this...

Its much more feasable for Alliance forces; the X-Wings were equipped with hyperdrives, and Z-95s could be as well. I'm not sure about Y-Wings, but they aren't the throwaway bombers of the Empire...

I did not actually mean instant scramble. I just meant that canon supports getting all the fighters off the ships as fast as possible. (Except possibly in extreme cases. My reference said that they did it because of the possibility of losing a fully loaded carrier, so you don't have to launch all of the Executor's)

There are many good ideas here but i think i like PR's idea best: only allowing a ship with a pop. of 6 that can carry say 10 to launch 6 fighter groups and holding four.
that not only balances the field but it will help tremendously with performance if you have 144 ties flying around plus the remanding 4 population for the empire then not to mention an entire fleet of rebel ships who spawn all fighters as well.

However if it is possible i think it would be cool to hover the mouse over the cap ship that just lost a fighter group and a pop up or something lets me chose what fighter group i wish to launch like a bomber group instead of the random launch it does now.

Yeah, not possible.

I don't know about that. The TIE Avenger and Defender are pretty damn good.

In general, the rebel fighters are better. Still, almost every rule has exceptions.
