hm this was a really big flame generating thread, tough i love create a hero, it not only gives the palyers an unique chance in the game(you can see the bad side of anything, anyway my bottles is half filled not half empty tough..), but some players that used more to role palying games will defenitely love their create a heros and dont want to get rid of them, anyway i love the rj mod too, so finally i'm on the side to keep them while they can be, it would really be sad if they would have to go. And in my opinion it would be fun if we could create a rohirrim cah haha rohan rules :p

And those are unintellect and annoying words from those whom said that "those who like cah they just play the basic game..." lol a player could love either the mod and the cah feature...

what would you rather have create a heros or awesome new features in the mod the problem i have with create a hero is the imense amount of upgrades it uses i say remove it those upgrades can go to better purposes

Yuh, Create-A-Hero isn't great to begin with, and all those lovely powers and upgrades could be given to those who need them.
What you could do is add each pre-made CaH to the appropriate faction (Berethor to Gondor, Idrial to Elves, Krashnak to Goblins, etc.) and then drop the rest. That way, you can still keep at least one of each CaH type while getting rid of the system, allowing the powers and upgrades to be used freely while not upsetting the guys who loved the CaHs.

I wont mind if CaH is removed. However there are some instances, like when you're Rohan and playing against Isengard, there is no way whatsoever of defeating their Heroes. So I think trim it down in such a way that you can get one type of CaH (for example an elf) for good factions and one type (orc or troll) for the Evil factions( So there are only two CaH availbale). That way most people will be pleased.

I honestly would like to keep CAH if at all possible. I wouldn't mind trimming it down a bit, especially trimming down the CAHs' effectiveness, but I wouldn't want it significantly diminished. I know many people have said, "Well, if you like CAH, just play the unmodded game." Are you serious? IMO there's no reason to go back to the original game other than the campaigns. This Mod is the best thing that has happen to this game. That's kudos to you Rob and Every one else that puts their time and energy into making this game the amazing game it is now. All because of this mod. So, if I like both and CAN have both, I would definitely prefer it. I use CAH for WotR mode almost exclusively. In fact, I almost only play WotR mode exclusively. If it is taken out of the Skirmish mode, find by me. Actually, I think that would help bring a lot of balance to the MP scene. But if I could have the option of "Amazing modded game and Awesome CAH," it would just make this mod that much better, IMHO.

i agree but skirmish is for when people cant find people online so its kind of needed but i do want the ch to stay plz

we will keep it if at all possible, but the issue is that it the game only allows a certian number of 'upgrades' and cah takes up a considerable amount of those. so if we start to run out of upgrades we will need to choose between trimming down cah and not adding something to the mod. it could potentially be quite limiting.

Exactly. This is why we want to remove CAH. It's constricting.
I had an idea for people who want to keep an aspect of it, though which is in the suggestions topic. Go check it out if you're interested.

As nice as CaH may be, it takes up 'upgrades'. These are what allows the mod to put in some of the stuff that does. The CaH aspect takes up alot of 'upgrades', constricting what can be done with the mod.

My 15 step plan would be as follows:
1. Remove CAH entirely
2. Finish MOD
3. See if there is let over Uprgades.
4. Add features to Mod that you thought wouldn't fit.
5. Repeat step 3
6. See if there are any more features that people would want that will fit and work
7.Repeat step 3
8. Decided what CAHs to keep
9. Decide what CAH powers should be available
10. Make CAH from components made in steps 8 and 9.
11. Release last beta
12. Listen to public complain about features that they wanted added and weren't
13. Get lots of negitive feedback on how much CAH sucks.
14. Get angry at self and others for thinking CAH was a good idea ever.
15. Remove CAH totally and add in more features then wonder what retard at EA ever thought CAH was a good idea.

It was done as a sarcastic tongue in cheek piece of irony to emphasis my dislike for CAH and that the needs of the Mod should come first.

Wars of Arda is doing that in ages in which there aren't enough heroes to make up a decent faction /cough Wainriders /cough.

I saw something of this sort posted earlier, but here's an idea: how about cut the create-a-hero classes down to just three of the main types - heroes of the west, the wizards, and corrupted men (keeping their sub-classes in process). That gives you two classes for either good or evil sides, and one that can be used for either. Also, it cuts away a lot of extra powers, hopefully enough to give you the extra room you need for the mod.

I know my a number of players would be highly dissapointed to see the CaH go entirely, though I can understand the need to clear some room for powers - I think the above might be suitable compromise to the situation, though. Would it work?
