but their were some bad moments like when I forgot to close the gate and warg riders got in and Gimli was the only one fighting them ;)

Defending fortresses and keeps #1: keep your gates closed! :p
So, who's fault is it? EA's or yours? ;)

I hated the little archers you could have to defend the wall, and be forced to leave gaps in my defense.

1.Scale of Helm's Deep and map too small
2.Too few number of Isengarde and Rohan force
3.Ballistas too annoying and it wipe my archer on wall many time
4.Not enough money to build unit and upgrade them ;)
5.Main gate too weak
6.Saving the rest of refugee from warg-rider(oh come on!) ;)
7.Gandalf and reformation arrive not epic enough.. :p (it donesn't give feeling of movie or books)
8.Gimli didn't blow that awesome horn ;)
9.King Théoden,Aragorn,Legolas and some royal guard don't charge out from Hornburg gate ;) (no other epic moment from movie)

Well EA did pretty good work..but it just not enough and some side mission is pointless(in my opinion)

Saving the peasants was some nice, free experience for your cavalry heroes. :p

its not something that i hate, but that im rather annoyed about that they didn't include ;)

when you watch the tutorial on heroes, there is a scene with aragorn slaughtering a few uruks in helms deep, as well as gimli throwing his axe with two hands. On the subject of little scripted movie bits, i thought that if you could include maybe a bit of the killing on a scripted bridge bit with aragorn and gimli maybe? or at least consider using these two anims please :p i've always wondered why it never appears in game...

thanks in advance,
Githiran.

Yeah iv seen it, but doesn't it kinda look like this just not throwing the knife?

That must be a custom animation for the mod as it does not exist it any of EA's animations for the released games. :p

Actually, I've seen it in an unmodded game. Add Isildur from BFME1. He has a power that's like a lademaster, and it gives him said animation.
A changed man is only the same man with a different outlook of life.

Yeah true in my wave map i added Isildor and when you use Narsil he uses those animations.
I could get a picture if i have time.
And here's the code for the knife throw its in aras.ini. Maybe the aims are hidden somewhere in Isildor's code
CODE
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
; Behavior = UnpauseSpecialPowerUpgrade ModuleTag_AragornKnifeAttackEnabler
; SpecialPowerTemplate = SpecialAbilityAragornKnifeAttack
; TriggeredBy = Upgrade_AragornKnifeAttack
; End
; Behavior = SpecialPowerModule ModuleTag_KnifeAttack ; SpecialAbility is a SpecialPower, SpecialPower is anyting special
; SpecialPowerTemplate = SpecialAbilityAragornKnifeAttack
; UpdateModuleStartsAttack = Yes
; StartsPaused = Yes
; End
; Behavior = WeaponFireSpecialAbilityUpdate ModuleTag_KnifeAttackUpdate ; So the difference in SpecialAbility is that it takes timing from this Update, instead of simply firing.
; SpecialPowerTemplate = SpecialAbilityAragornKnifeAttack
;
; UnpackTime = 1300 ; Drawing the horn
; PreparationTime = 1 ; nothing
; PersistentPrepTime = 1600 ; Blowing
; PackTime = 3700 ; Putting horn away

Edit here's Isildurs.ini, if you wont to take alook at it

I think the main wall was to thick, and short. In the movie the wall could hold two or three guys literally front to back. In the game you could fit a squad sideways.

Well, I took a closer look at Isidur's animation, and it is indeed another animation for the Aragorn skeleton. I was not aware of that. But the animation is actually a powerful sword attack, not a knife throwing attack. Still, I don't even remember a time when Aragorn threw a knife in the movie. He did stab Lurtz in the leg with a knife, and then Lurtz threw it back at him. So technically, Lurtz should have it, not Aragorn. ^_^

That's a pathing issue. If you make the walls too narrow, units will clump up too much and they would have a hard time maneuvering on the walls. I will not be changing the thickness of the walls for this reason. :p

Something I never really liked was that when the bomb went off (if you allowed Isengard to blow up the wall) it took down a HUGE section of the wall, almost half of it. It should really only take out a small chunk.

Your right that's kinda dumb how EA made it so that a huge chunk blows off when in the movies its a small chunk big enough to let like 10 urks pass through it at a time.

I don't want to get technical but Aragorn did actually throw a knife in the movie. It was during the fight when they are in Moria. Boromir is holding the chain leash of the cave troll and it hurls him against a wall. He is knocked out for a while and while trying to get back up a goblin is about to kill him. Aragorn then takes and throws a knife at the goblin to kill it and nods at Boromir. It is in the extended edition of the film.

That will be addressed in my version. :p

Ah yes, forgot about that scene. :p The whole nodding thing seemed out of place though. :p

1. I didn't like how only like 4 battalions of Elves came when it the movie a lot came. Those Elves pretty much saved Helms Deep from a total wipe.
2. I didn't like how EA thought it was a good idea not to add Haldir. He was a key character in the movies(never read the books)and his death should also be added sometime in your mod. :p
3. Few resources/cp to work with. I had like 5 archers on the wall and some peasents at the gate that was pretty much all EA would allow. I'm guessing the reason is they didn't wont the player to lag or didn't want the player to have such a army that the AI couldn't blow the wall, or smash the gate, or anything such as.
4. I don't like how the walls of the Hornburg and Keep are so small. I mean in the movie they WERE HUGE. I'm not sure if you can change the size of the walls but that would be a nice feature in your mod if you could. :p
5. You couldn't make the Archers stay on the walls, they would lock onto a target and if the target moved out of range they would move along the wall or even some times leave the wall altogether. This was annoying because I'd wasted more time putting the units into certain stances and making sure they weren't moving up and down the walls.
6. It was boring and too easy. I went into the map thinking, "Oh yeah! Finally a chance to see a big army vs a even bigger army with plenty of action and difficulty"...I got into it...and it was very disappointing.
7. The scripting just didn't seem enough, I don't know a thing about modding but I'm sure scripting is difficult but I mean EA made this game I'm sure scripting wasn't the hardest part. They could have added a few more scripting parts to it.
8. Finally, the fact that Isengard could build camps...a little annoying because if I remember correctly don't you have to go out of Helms Deep and destroy the camps to win? ..I'd perfer it to be "Last Orc standing looses" ...kill all the orcs and you win. I've not playing the campaign in some time but this is what I remember that didn't satisfy what I expected was going to be in this map. I think EA just said, "Lets get this over with and move on" instead of taking their time.

But they did make a awesome series of games and I love both and the expansion. I did for the most part enjoy what they did with Moria. The part with the Balrog was weird, Gandalf shouldn't have lived but came back with the mission of The Eaves of Fangorn. Boromir should've died at Amon Hen as well. But EA did a great job nonetheless...can't make it perfect. :thumbsupsmiley

1. There will be many more elves in my version. :p I estimate that there will be a maximum of 100.

2. Haldir will be in the mod and I do plan on adding a death scene through scripts. And you should really read the books. ;)

3. You will have much more freedom to create units and build up an army. ;)

4. Yep, they are already taller and will be roughly two to three times taller than EA's version. :)

5. This is an issue I will address as it is a very annoying problem. ;)

6. Map will be difficult to beat and armies will be much larger. :good:

7. Personally, I think EA made their scripts for the map too complex and redundant. I should be able to make the scripts be more effective and efficient. ;)

8. Yeah, do not know if I'm going to allow Isengard to build any buildings. Still up for debate. :p

Thanks. :p
