I've been experiencing a bit of trouble uploading large files to the server today and was just wondering if you guys knew of anything going on behind the scenes.
I went to put out our fourth internal release for PR (140 MB ZIP file) an hour or so ago and got 60-some MB transferred three times before SmartFTP errored out with the message: "An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host." As I said, this is the fourth time I've tried it in the past three months and I've never had an issue.
Normally I'd write it off as a fluke, but with the public release in just a few days (which I will need the server's file space for), I wanted to make sure this wasn't a long-term issue. Thanks.

I think, I may be wrong, but I think that it's a timeout thing that the ftp connection will time out after a certain amount of time no matter what. I found that as well sometime back so just use SFTP for everything, if you have SSH enabled on your account it could be a good option. You could also try a different FTP client but then again I use FileZilla and had the same problems.

I use CuteFTP and not suffer those problems while my other ftp program had similar issues.

I'll take a look at that asap.
Btw, Windows with 64 bits has a bug that may happen when windows firewall is activated with the application layer gateway that may cause that to happen with any server. Fore more information, check this:

Edit: I guess your problem is definitelly the windows x64 bug I mentioned above. The server is working fine and it is quite reliable at the moment.

Alright, thanks, I'll play with the settings if it doesn't work again. Who knows, maybe it was just that time? If it can do 135 MB, you'd think it could do 140 though.

Can I bother an admin to instate Ghostrider as a moderator on the PR forums? I'm going to need the help as soon as I upload this thing, and he's basically my number two.

Sure thing. Added him as a moderator to all of your forums (I hope that's what you wanted).
