Revora is nothing without it's community. The community is you. Therefore, we want your opinion.
What can we do to improve Revora? Feel free to post here whenever you have an idea or complaint. We'll be glad to hear them :D

You have a new forum for Blizzard games but left out the Diablo series, the best one they made :thumbsupsmiley:

(but included crappier ones like... world of warcraft, which, shouldn't that just go under the 'Warcraft' section? maybe as a sub forum within that?)

No, WoW is a standalone game with standalone expansions, which in my mind, makes it a standalone series. Even though it's based off of Warcraft.

We left out Diablo because it's not that moddable. If enough people want a discussion forum for it though, I suppose we could add it in.

Well, you should wait till Diablo 3 comes. I hope they make it quite mod able like Titan qeust and iam willing to spend another 100 hours to make an lvl 1 skill crash my pc because of the grapihcal awesomenes like i did with Diablo 2 :thumbsupsmiley:!

So thats why we should get an diablo 3 section(it has alot of fans) And with that game alot of people would love to share there skill tree, gear etc..

Diablos I!
"Dang Nabit! Something is afoul in my well!"

I say we make ourselfs look more professional. All we are is a list categorizing sublists and those sublists containing more of the same and topics. IPB is a limited piece of crap, but we can separate the community and the games more. Other than a new design... just more promoting is needed since we have a big need for diverse members. All my other suggestions require money, and I ain't Captain Crunch.

Imagine the 'chaos' if we had a general Warcraft section? Warcraft 3 is pretty popular and we hope to get many mods in, we don't want people confusing the mods with WoW mods which is the most modded game in the world without a doubt. That part of the forum if we get up the levels that we really want it to, would be crazy, that's why we've created it separately. And plus, yes it's a Warcraft series, but they're two totally separate games, and they each deserve their own section.

As for Diablo, it's just far too hard to mod, and their are no real big mods for it, so to create it's own section would be rather redundant. If there is a big request and we get some mods in for it, sure, I'd be happy to make a new section for it, but for the time being, it's SC2, WC3 and WoW.

Speaking of IPB, I've come across a later, more upgraded version of IPB. I believe it's the 3.0.0 release, or something like that. I don't like it and I don't think it adds anything useful, but others may disagree.

We should be upgrading nonetheless, sometimes newer versions will include technical fixes as well as security fixes, although, we have so many add-ons as DLotS said it may interfere with them.

I wouldn't if I were you. No skins, no mods. Your skins here would be obsolete, and you'd have to recode them (which was just done a few months ago). If you want a live 3.0 board, click the sig...we're waiting on a custom skin I asked someone to make, but other then that not all that different from 2.3.6.

Recruit some artists and find the holy grail here at revora, a serious art division. Attempted many times with minimal success. I've tried recruiting all over the web recently about Revora and what we can offer and all the goodies. Nothing...

I swear it might be easier to find a modeler than a graphics artist.

Oh hey, I had an idea. We should host clans. We have all these games and we have people who help mod them... so why not interest people that play them (probably most of the people who help mod them play too anyway)? Dunno how we should set it up, but I assumed we can create a Clan section in each game and give each clan their own private grounds. Heck, why not make social clans? Our regular community can make clans to increase group productivity.

It would also help us recruiters find members; as some people might want to start a clan and they want their own private section, and we can lead them down here. Could even have tournaments... But should be something to consider.

We actually tried this maybe a year ago? Perhaps it failed because we started off with RA3 which wasn't that successful.. Other games might certainly be an option.

Clans is a good idea, but we'd need to move into new territory game-wise. RTS clans do have sites and things, I'd like to move into SC2 for clans as they're going to be loads.

But FPS is the way to go when hosting clans. I have experience in this field, well should do as I'm hosting leader lol, but what clans want is a site, forums and then something special, the something special I'm thinking of is a cheap ventrillo server, that's IF we can host the servers without causing too much problems for Revora.

If not, then go for the sites and forums, we may need to make a new site for it though, I was thinking something like:

klanhost.net

This could work, but it'd take a lot of work to do. If we can set up the domain and GET THE SITE DONE FIRST, then all should be well. Would we need a forums for it? Probably not, just use the hosting application form, or create a new one on the new site just for clans.

Anyway, there's all my ideas in one post, so trash away lol.

This just reminds me of the Revora Juggernauts idea we tried a year or two back with C&C3. That mostly failed. Something like this would only work if we can be sure it'll get the attention of people.

klanhost.net

That site name sounds like a KKK recruitment site or something. :p

Sounds like an interesting idea but it will be hard to compete with sites that have established clans. This may be most successful with SC2. If we can get everything set up before the game is released, people can join right away. :p

We may have hefty competition over other sites with clans, but their weakness is the fact users have limited ability. Even have to pay for your own avatar on some. We can study a few and take the good and bad parts, put em' together and scrap the bads as much as possible.

Revora needs a media hosting type section for CNC and other game assets, it works well for PPM does it not ? and maybe even have a spotlight section for excellent work.

By media hosting, I'm assuming you mean voxels and SHPs and such? For the time being, YR Argentina fulfils this role.
The only media type we don't appear to have hosting for is 3D models, for the likes of Generals and later games. This is certainly an option we can provide for, if people are willing to submit such material.
