I figure this deserves a news post, since not everyone may have seen Shikari's original post.

I thought people might like to know that we have recently been able to contact Rob. He is OK, but life has been very busy for him recently and he does not have time to return to T3A. He would very much like to continue working on the mod, and has everything in place to do so if things slow down a bit.

The mod is not dead, nor is it alive at the moment. Until Rob is back no official progress on the mod will be made. The official status of the mod is dormant as far as the team are concerned, we will not be leaving whilst there is still hope of a return.

As for unofficial progress, I have something which Rob pre-approved, but didn't make it into 1.06 which I may post in the news at some point :)

I know that LOTR fans who are still around T3A are the patient type, and so let us continue to wait for Rob to return. There is so much more we have planned, please stick around until we get the chance to make it for you :p

Yeah, I think some of us missed the news. Good that it's been announced on the 3rdage site.
At least, we have a hope. :p

I think I should post the summary of his speech here too. ;)

Well, this is a nice treat for one of my infrequent logins! It's reassuring to know that people are still breathing, you know. But now I may have to find that BFME2 disc that's been missing forever to put any possible future editions of RJ on this new(er) computer that I have inherited.

Anyway, I congratulate Rob on not having had happen what I had thought had happened! :p

See OP. It's not dead, just put on hold 'til Rob has his life sorted out.
It has been reported that some victims of rape, during the act, would retreat into a fantasy world from which they could not WAKE UP. In this catatonic state, the victim lived in a world just like their normal one, except they weren't being raped. The only way that they realized they needed to WAKE UP was a note they found in their fantasy world. It would tell them about their condition, and tell them to WAKE UP. Even then, it would often take months until they were ready to discard their fantasy world and PLEASE WAKE UP

I'm beyond glad that Rob is alright. I hope the mod can continue again soon, but for now, I'm breathing a sigh of relief that everyones well.

'The Twilight of Man is nigh, and coming ever closer. The days have shortened into cold, forlorn darkness and sunrise to sundown is a bitter struggle for survival. But do not think for a moment that we shall not fight. We shall not go quietly into the dusk. We shall not throw down arms and flee, or surrender. We will go on, we will not falter. And even should we die, we shall make an end that will be remembered for thousands of years. For beautiful Arnor that is, for glorious Númenor that was! We are the Dúnedain, we are the Men of the North, and our foes will remember our steel!'

Just realized that its nearly been a year since Rob was last online - it will have been a whole year this April.

crap, that's right!
"Sons of Gondor, of Rohan, my brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of Men fails…. When we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship. But it is not this day! An hour of wolves and shattered shields when the age of Men comes crashing down. But it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good earth I bid you stand, Men of the West!"-King Ellessar

I think 'on hold' would be the best way to put it.

:) Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeloooooooooooooooo! Why are you guys sitting around waiting for rob like a dog waiting for his master? Is it really impossible to do anything without him??? Why don't you keep working? I know the mods named after him, but what if he doesn't start working on it? Are you just going to sit around and wait forever?
What I'm trying to say is appoint a new leader. Start working!!! I really, really like this mod and i don't want to see it die like this.

Dude its his mod. How would you like if someone just came and took over you mod because you where inactive for a few months?? You really disgust me :)
And comparing the mod team to dogs??? If it weren't for those dogs then RJ wouldn't be complete and you wouldn't be playing a beta and if it weren't for Rob, RJ would have never exist.

TEA is way different than this :) Celeglin has been gone for like 3 years or so, while Rob has responded to us and is just dealing with life situations.

Well better not to worry about it now, you have an amazing beta to play (to all those asking) and lots of members to play against. The public beta the team released is a hell of a lot better than most would have expected (in my opinion, and i'm sure a few others - not a shot at Rob) and will continue to hold attention over the public for a while ;)
