"To know what question we may reasonably propose is in itself a strong evidence of sagacity or intelligence. For if a question be in itself incongruous and begs for uncalled-for answers, it holds, sometimes, besides embarrassing the proposer, the disadvantage to seduce the unguarded listener into giving absurd answers, and we are presented with the ridiculous spectacle of one (as the ancients said) milking the he-goat, and the other holding a sieve beneath."

Upon first downloading everything and then clicking online it said "Login timed out" just like it did when EA sports shut down the servers. Then after trying again, it now says my password does not match my login with my Revora account. Help please

Is there a certain region I am supposed to pick? I picked US without thinking and it says theres only 1 person online (me). Not sure if no one plays or I messed up. Anyway to change my region if this is the case?

I think the setting is stored somewhere in the My Battle for Middle-earth Files\Lotrb4me folder.

So it doesnt matter which region I pick?

Yes, it does not matter. Basically all games are hosted in the first room/region 'Fellowship Club'.

Last year at some point I asked a question about installing the online edition on another partition other than drive C:\. I don't want the game on drive C:\ and want it on another partition, but the game doesn't launch if it isn't installed on drive C:\
Someone here had some pretty nifty commands that I could use in command prompt to move the installation or something, but for the life of me, I can't find it again. Could someone please assist me to move the game to another partition to make it "think" it's installed on drive C:\. Why the installer doesn't give us the option to choose the install path is beyond me :(
Thanks
PS: I found it again: http://forums.revora...-im-dumb/page-2 :-)

i've installed the online version and i also got the patch but when i try to join a game it says they have a different version? I'm playing with the disk in as well because it was requested.
My disk copy is fairly old so i'm not sure if that would matter.
Any help is appreciated.

Hi Bbomb9,
I too am playing with the disk version. One thing that the guide over here: http://online.the3rdage.net/ doesn't cover however is the fact that you must first patch the retail (or disk copy) with the 1.03 official patch first (http://lordofthering...h_English;57482) and then patch it with patch 1.05 (also known as the community patch, found over here: http://www.moddb.com...s/get-patch-105)
Once you've done the above, then your game version will be fine to connect to others. One thing that I neglected to do was to patch to 1.03 first and then apply the community patch (1.05). However, there are still some people that I can't join for some reason, but I think they are making use of the patch switcher to play a different version I believe. However, I found enough people to play against on version 1.05
Hope that helps.

Hi there,
I am unable to select any widescreen resolutions in the game settings. Is there a way to play in 1920x1080?
#36
Posted 16 January 2014 - 08:36 PM
There is no native widescreen support (at the moment), but you can change your resolution in the file options.ini, probably located in
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\My Battle for Middle-earth Files
Open with any texteditor and change the lines
Resolution = xres yres
to suit your needs.
For example, to get 1600x1200 resolution change it to
Resolution = 1600 1200

Yes, there is. Go to Application Data\My Battle for Middle-earth Files, open Options.ini and add this line:
Resolution = 1920 1080
EDIT: ICT beat me to it. Blah.
