Before I begin, yes this is a rant, take it as such. Now for some pleasantries and random bullshit.

The community for bfme is by no means large, and by large, the "veteran" old players show a complete lack of respect for "noobs" new players, I am part of the latter. I by no means have any reason for this community to grow, I play with a few friends, who consequently invited me to the game but as a sign of respect, I've made this topic.

Now I understand us noobs are shit, we can't play the game, we make it boring, you have to save us from losing blah blah blah. We are also what will I hope for your sakes - rejuvenate the game. The community at the minute is tiny, if it were to grow, most players would be noobs, and currently we are treated with a complete lack of respect - on many levels might I add.

Why on earth would anyone stay around and play bfme, when at best they can find a game, and get told they are shit, without any real input into how they can improve, or at worst, be booted from games for being a noob.

It's fairly clear that the limiting factor to the growth of bfme, is the players themselves. I'd like to add at this point, I have seen your mentoring programmes and such, which is a cool idea but players want to log on, see if anyones about and play, if when they do so, they are met with animosity, they will shortly leave and won't be coming back. The attitude of the current players has to change for the community to expand.

Take my input as you will. Feel free to reply "aww poor noob u got owned" and I'll promptly reply "how's your mothers arsehole?"

You will find that this is not the prevailing attitude on these forums, and the server's administrators are not like this.

We do not tolerate excessive verbal abuse on our server. If you experience this, please take a screenshot of the event and send me a PM. I will then look into the situation.

You must understand, though, that apart from banning these players, there is very little we can do. And as our community is small, we are as of yet quite reluctant to take this measure, even if the ban is temporary. My advice to you would be to host games with 'noobs only' in the title. If this does not work and you experience abuse, just ignore these players. They cannot boot you from a game that is in progress, after all.

I will be making a news post regarding this subject, however, in an attempt to improve the situation for you and others. Thanks for taking the time to alert us.

I understand your viewpoint, and it of course is of immense importance to us.

What I can say though is that you can still use T3A:Online to your benefit and pleasure. It may require a bit more effort on your part, but post topics or even shoutbox asking if anyone is willing to play casual games. I bet you there will be people willing to play that are not the 'Veteran bully scene'.

Take me for example. I cannot play BFME competitively, I am absolute garbage in that aspect. I would never imagine going into the server and playing with the pros. However if someone asked if anyone was down for casual gaming, I would definitely be down for a few matches of fun.

There is a fine line between casual and competitive, especially with such a small community as you mentioned. The trick is to bypass them and play with your friends, and even outsource to make new ones, while still utilizing the server as our gift to you.

Have you considered playing some of our mods with your friends online? That could breathe some new fire into the world of BFME.

Hello, I_Que_147!

First, I am really pleased to see you online, that you found your way to us - and whenever we meet online, Ill be happy to play with you and anyone else around.

The personal online experience can differ a lot for different players, sadly. Wherever you go, there will be a few jerks, kids showing off.

But dont let them get the upper hand, I know there are many friendly (even competetive!) players around who are willing to help if asked nicely.

From their point of view: It can be just bad luck for someone new sometimes, but it is understandable that the good players want to play with good players to have their best online experience. However, there has to be a balance between taking and giving, which should be a common concensus amongst all players (even tho not everyone gets it).

You mentioned mentoring programs and similar - there are enough possibilities to become a good player pretty quick, if wanted. There is no need to do so ofcourse, and the beauty of this game is that players of similar skill will always enjoy the game, regardless their level.

Again, hoping that this bad experience wont take your joy apart I hope you are able to fin pleasure in this fantastic game! =)

From my personal experience I can say that Ive met many new and old palyers online, many friendly people and Im sure you will meet them, too. As the server community grows, we can only hope for more enthusiastic people to join us and generate diversity.

Thanks for the replies, and the offerings of advice. I didn't really make this topic for myself, I play with my friend and that's pretty much it and these are just the things I've observed. I feel talking of banning is abit harsh. It was to highlight a problem that I feel the server has, I wouldn't say anyone I've encountered has been overly abusive, but rude yes and unhelpful at best.

I am someone who likes to mix shit up so I can't talk all that much, but I wouldn't purposefully ignore and be rude to another player. With such a small community it is important that everyone is somewhat friendly if not helpful.

I think you guys are doing a good job, and everything is quite well integrated, forums, facebook and what not which definitely helps new players but trying to engage the veteran players and have them actively help the community would be huge (the mentor program is a great idea).

Quick edit - I do know the problem isn't as damning as my initial post made it seem, I have actually played with ICT and many others who are incredibly helpful.

EastcliffAve Hi. I just found this forum. Used to play BfME1 and it is the only online game I ever really enjoyed. Struggling to get this going . But first . . . how active is the BfME1 playing community here.

I'll need to buy a BfME1 copy, since years since lost my last one. Or can I download this now?

Kind regards.

Hi EastcliffAve!

You can download the game http://forshire.blog.../downloads.html, note that all patches are included, you can just login with your account data.

The community is still active, you will find plenty of people to play with, especially during european afternoons/nights.

Looking forward to see you online!

ICT - Many Tx. Game downloaded and working. Fab!

However, online login still defeating me. Do I need a separate login ID from Revora login? If I try the "register" button I go to what I think is a revora page. There my revora name is already taken. If I try a new name I find the email id already taken.

sorry to be so feeble, but . . . please can you help me.

Many tx,  Ashley (aka  EastcliffAve)

You can log into the T3A:Online server by using your Revora Account Name, your T3A password (which you need to set in your account first), and whatever nickname you wish.

No, you need to use this ID as your Revora Account Name (because it is), the T3A password you set in your profile (so *not* the one you registered with), and whatever nickname you want.

Mathijs - I am getting "No password was found for the specified account" when I try this. Or at least I think I am trying this.

Another clue?

I really appreciate the help.

That is because you did not set the T3A password in your account settings, as I said :p

Go to your account, click Edit, scroll down, and fill in the password you want to use in the T3A:Online Password field.

EDIT: I see you're online now, Ashley. Glad you got it working :)

OK - Found it. Very many tx.

Now I am not "connecting" at start of game. Well I did get two once, but not enough to actually play.

What can I do to improve my "connecting"?

Tx  Ashley

Go online, go to Options, and press Refresh Nat. Do this every time you log in.

You can also try port forwarding for a permanent solution, more on that here: http://forums.revora...can-i-fix-this/
