And is compability is cheked by default and can't ne changed. And I read admin mode can cause this error, too. So I didn't check this box. And thanks everybody for the answers!!!!!

HI everybody,

I installed T3A for the HD Textures in 1.06. The Problem is, that T3A uses the "compatibility mode xp sp2" is checked and can't be unchecked. I read in other forums that the copy protection makes everyone the game lose after a short time, if they dont have a valid version (i have the orginal dvd and no cracks or serial generator) or if the the compatibility mode is used (like in this case). I tried to play with the pure version (no mods or patches) with and without the compatibility mode --> with compatibility i lost the game after 2 min. Just as note: I have windows 7 proffesional 64 bit.

So the Question:

Is there a work around to uncheck the compatibility mode and use T3A and patch 1.06 or another work around to fool the copy protection? I dont have to play online (just would be nice). I just want an HD game (which is really nice, thank you a lot you modder guys ;-) )

PS: Lose the game means: Every unit dies and the lost screen comes. In Skirmish and Campaign! With patch 1.05 and without T3A i am able to play. And without T3A patch 1.06 doesnt work, or does it?!

Edit: Now i unistalled SecureRom. Helped nothing!

Well what you gotta do is reinstall it, make sure you are running the installer as an administrator, there is a flaw sometimes when installing that the game2.dat is generated incorrectly, or that the key is written wrong or something like that, so reinstalling should fix this error :)

Are you sure you don't lose the game without the patch?

Thanks for your FAST answer. But it didn't work. I worte EA if the Key is marked as stolen or something(installed the game over 15 time in last 3 days)

@Ridder Geel: And yes without any patch i played until the half of the second campaign mission and with patch 1.03 I fullfilled even the third mission. I think its the problem woht the compatibilty mode. I tested it. Without patch the same happens, when it is cheked (doesn't matter sp1 sp2 oder sp3).

Thanky you Francesco! This sounded right. But didn't work either. Even made two fresh installs (uninstall t3a and clean folder and regisetry)! I dont know if it helps. These are the steps i do:

- install game

- start it once (for appdata folder)

- copy Options.ini in appdata folder

- install patches 1.01 1.02 1.03

- copy patch 1.05 in folder

- install t3a:online
- copy _patch106german.big (sometimes i dont do these step if i'm testing)

-delete LOTRBFMe.dat and run the replacer from forshire

Do you have the German version installed? It's had problems with mods (and unofficial patches) in the past..

Just install the normal version, make sure old registry key are deleted. If you get the autodefeat error after properly patching to 1.06 (first 1.03 then 1.05 then 1.06) try to delete lotrbfmee.dat and doubleclick lotrbfme_inst.exe which will recreate it. If this doesn't help make sure to run the game as admin and try compability to xp sp3 ?

"To know what question we may reasonably propose is in itself a strong evidence of sagacity or intelligence. For if a question be in itself incongruous and begs for uncalled-for answers, it holds, sometimes, besides embarrassing the proposer, the disadvantage to seduce the unguarded listener into giving absurd answers, and we are presented with the ridiculous spectacle of one (as the ancients said) milking the he-goat, and the other holding a sieve beneath."
